President Donald Trump on Wednesday said his campaign's internal polling numbers are the "best" ever despite the Trump campaign's internal polling showing the president behind former Vice President Joe Biden in key 2020 states.

Fake numbers for a Fake Pres would only be fair.

I don't think Trump denied those poor numbers to himself. In fact, they probably scared the bejeebes out of him ~ so he lied just like he always does.

Trump may not be the brightest porch light in town but he knows that poor poll numbers are contagious and can spread like a fatal virus among those fence-sitting GOP voters.

Of course they got leaked anyway so Trump just lied some more . . . and more . . . and more.

Lying and projection are about the only things about Trump that are consistent.

You'd think those zombies he calls a base would catch on by now.

When your plan is to steal the election poll numbers cease to matter. Trump's new book will be "The Art of the Steal." With an introduction written by Vladimir Putin.

Low poll numbers aren't about the November election right now. They're about the fickle finger of fate that McConnell fears will cost him the GOP majority in the Senate.

Trump's high disapproval numbers are dangerous indicators to those who are already standing on thin ice (or one foot on a banana peel so to speak) when you consider how slim that majority already is.

Pelosi should take advantage of the polling situation and impeach the bastard. When the hearings air on TV the polls will move to support the impeachment and the obstinate Republican Senate will be confronted with election defeat if they don't convict him.
With Nixon, the polls went from very supportive of Nixon to strong support for impeachment in a matter of weeks. Democrats looking weak and timid now is not a good election strategy.

Right now I think the election is too far away and most of the public hasn't been educated as to the depth of Trump's depravity. The minute the world "impeachment" is attached to any formal activity Trump will immediately go into his "victim" act. I'm as anxious as you are to get this psycho out of the our lives but Pelosi cannot give the Senate any escape hatches to get out of a conviction. She's playing the long game. To do otherwise is to win the battle (indictment) but lose the war.

Mitch and his bobble-head majority aren't likely to go quietly into the night. They're going to fight like hell. Pelosi needs to have them surrounded on all sides if she expects to succeed.

Poll numbers will change when they begin the hearings leading to impeachment which will be televised. Doing nothing is not carrying out the duties of the Speaker of the House. Every day she delays creates more dubts in the population that there is a solid case for impeachment even though there is a very solid case for impeachment.

I agree with twin....just be patient. Impeachment is a risk the dems shouldn't take right now.

Don't worry about how Pelosi looks. I seriously doubt that's as visible as you think it is.

Save your energy for the election.....

Trump has been playing the victim card since before the inauguration so if impeachment hearings were to begin, what's he going to do, tweet more and more crazily? That won't help him. Richard Nixon was far more popular than is Donald Trump when impeachment hearings began and it only took a few weeks before the majority of our nation supported impeachment. Continue waiting and it will get too close to election day, now is the time to act, delay harms Democrats in 2020 by making us look indecisive and too concerned with political gain instead of enforcing the Constitution. Hell, this nut job is ginning up a war with Iran right now, we need to get this lunatic out of there before he starts WWIII.

Read up on the political risks they took with Nixon, it paid off because it was the right thing to do. Stop with the political favorability contest and do their Constitutional duties. The people will respect that, they don't respect all the gamesmanship.

What makes you think she's not carrying out her duties as Speaker of the House?. She's winning court cases for those subpoena road blocks and she's forced Barr to turn over the UN-redacted Mueller Report (sans Supreme court testimony). She has bank records from Deutch pouring in by the thousands. She has major key players lines up to testify in spite of Trump's warnings. Mueller himself is scheduled to testify as well.

She's done away with that 3-day work week the House enjoyed and also eliminated that week off every three month as well.

All of that is lightening speed for a legislative body. Still, it's going to take months to get all that information solid enough to convince the Senate. Think long term DANNI. It's the results that count in the end.

By the time his Russian buddies get through hacking the election he probably will win every state in a landslide.

Except that would be too obvious..

Only critical states at critical moments need to be hacked. In addition, to carefully released damaging or hacked material.

Leverage and timing. Remember 2016? It was all about the timing.

For example: Dems released the Access Hollywood tape and amazingly what else was released that very same evening an donly hours later?

I will let you all google it. (SHEP needs the practice)

For SHEP:

Here is the google search parameters you will need...

"what was released hours after the access hollywood tapes" you should get about 11 million results in 0.63 seconds

Good luck!

SOMEBODYELSE

The media (except FOX) is on a 24/7/365 blitz right now to expose the public to the worst of the worst of Donald Trump. Call it a mission creep or whatever, but the plan I believe is to sway public opinion who, in turn, will be writing their congress critters with some very salty language that describe their contempt for any legislator who still supports this brutal barbarian.

I've always felt that Russia is savvy enough to realize when their boy is going down in flames and is, therefore, of no further use to them. It was a very fragile friendship of reciprocity to begin with.

The same can be said about Saudi Arabia. Imagine if you will how many "deals" Trump and his family have made that will die on the vine if Trump is impeached or gets defeated. The loss will be staggering. I think Trump needs that 2nd term desperately or he's toast . . . and he knows it.
