I assume we have technological resources there that can prove the allegations.

Gulf of Tonkin II - Booga Booga Iran

Bolton and others would like an excuse for war with Iran ala this alleged 'incident' in Vietnam 1964 that escalated our involvement in Vietnam into a full fledged war.

"While many facts and details have emerged in the past 44 years to persuade most observers that some of the reported events in the Gulf (of Tonkin) never actually happened, key portions of the critical intelligence information remained classified until recently.

In late 2007, that information was finally made public when an official National Security Agency (NSA) history of signals intelligence (SIGINT) in Vietnam, written in 2002, was released in response to a Freedom of Information Act request. With that report, after nearly four decades, the NSA officially reversed its verdict on the events of August 4, 1964"

How many will die this time?

I wouldn't put it past the Mossad or Saudi Arabia committing this act to get the U.S. embroiled in conflict with Iran.

They both want Iran gone.

This has Bolton's greasy fingerprints all over it.

Whodunit?

Didn't you see the yellow notepad the Walrus was holding?

I didn't see it but people are saying it clearly said, "send 5,000 troops to venezuela and mine the Gulf of Oman ASAP!"

I am not saying that.

That's what the people are saying! And they are saying it firmly and it is on the internets and all in the twitters so it must be true.

Why do oil companies keep demanding free stuff?

There are people right here on the DR who still can't acknowledge the Gulf of Tonkin incident was fabricated to get us into the Vietnam War.

So, they are the Useful Idiots being catered to here.

Unsurprisingly, zero of them are Democrats.

Yeah, that Bolton is a living breathing neocon Warhawk.

He's never seen a bomb he didn't want to drop.

Just like our resident Armchair General, Field Marshal Corky.

Iran has strongly denied attacking the oil tankers.

Totally Exonerated!

#26 | Posted by bored at 2019-06-14 02:46 AM | Reply

Not exonerated, BORED, but not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt either. I'd much rather have a jury that wasn't stacked with Trump flunkies. We already know how those kangaroos swing.

This could be a false flag as easy as not ~ considering the drumbeat coming out of the WH lately ~ plus starting a war isn't an uncommon tactic for a president with no ethics who fears losing a second term.

In fact, this falls right in with Trump's m.o. of creating a crisis for political gain.

And then, of course, there's Bolton hiding behind the curtain.

Sheepass, you'll need to do your rewrites with a younger crowd who doesn't actually remember recent history.

We should remember that we do not get OUR oil from the Persian Gulf. That oil goes mostly to Asia and Europe. As I remember India, Japan and China all have pretty good navies. Maybe they should be securing this international right of way. Someone is putting mines out there, maybe we should pull up a few and see where they were made.

These attacks have that Sunni Muslim aroma and that isn't coming from Iran. It's coming from the sponsors of 9/11. There is no way Iran attacked a Japanese owned oil tanker with the Prime Minister of Japan meeting with the iranians in Tehran. More like an effort to tell the Japanese that depending on Iranian oil is a bad idea which can be disrupted with American weapons happily supplied, against the will of Congress, by Trump, to the Saudi butchers.
Trump and Bolton are trying to lead us into a war and they are trying to position us on the wrong side of that war.
If McConnell had a spine he would support revoking the War Powers Act immediately and support impeachment hearings before this maniac drags us into another unnecessary war. Pelosi needs to stop obfuscating and begin impeachment hearings before it is too late.

"#19 Everyone knew he was a DINO."

That wasn't even an accusation at the time, no one considered Nixon to be anything except a Republican but the problem for you is that Republicans back then weren't Confederates like they are today. You don't really even understand what a Republican was back then. You wouldn't have been one, Russians were not welcome in the Republican Party back then. It's sort of sad to see that they are welcomed today. Republicans used to be patriotic Americans, not any more though.

#30 | Posted by danni Tell you a true story about Saudi Arabia. We caught a terrorist, put him in a jail, but the jail was built to look like one in Saudi Arabia.(it was actually in Arizona, maybe). The guards all spoke Arabic, they even had recorded Saudi street sounds piped in through the windows. Eventually the terrorist promised a big reward if he provided him a cell phone. The guard did. The first number he called was to a Saudi prince, asking him for help being released and money to rejoin his buddies. The US informed the King the next day. The prince died in a "hunting accident" within 24 hours of the royal family being informed.

By treaty the US is responsible for the Marshall Islands protections around the globe.
"The Compact of Free Association with the United States gives the U.S. sole responsibility for international defense of the Marshall Islands. It gives islanders the right to emigrate to the United States and to work there"

You want to US to adhere to their legal obligations, right?

Prime Minister Abe of Japan is in Iran on a peace mission. It is preposterous to think that Iran would choose such an event to sabotage an oil tanker, let alone an oil tanker owned by Japan. It is consistent with past behavior that the USA would seek to disrupt such a peace talk by sabotaging a Japanese ship and then striving to blame it on Iran.

The most likely explanation. Like I said before, I don't see where Iran gains anything from this.

Gopters are only worried about poor people getting free stuff. If rich people get free stuff it OK and it is because they deserve it and the poor hoi polloi do not.

Obviously.

So what did we learn children?

Don't be the hoi polloi! (to all of you who lost the sperm lotto, oops!)
