Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

A University of California study, covering five years, easily discovered at least 500 people from 18 countries working in slave-like circumstances in California. The UC study said 80 percent were female and half were children. The National Human Trafficking Resource Center says that it received nearly 4,000 complaints about human trafficking from California in 2015. The Associated Press gave us a peek into the underground world of California slavery a few years ago with an article about one Egyptian girl, Shylma Hall, whose parents sold her into slavery at age 10 and, when her Egyptian owners moved to Orange County, was brought along as an unpaid servant and treated like chattel.

How do people forget California has extremist right wingers too? Where there are conservatives, there will be grotesque crimes and moral bankruptcy.

Look who all those examples were of too, which I noticed the article took pains not to identify them by their religion.

Islam, the only religion where slavery still exists.

Enslavement of prisoners is permissible under the Constitution, Boaz.
You know what that means, right?
America is a Muslim nation.

Fortunately for you blacks, you'll fight right in!
Kill Whitey!

Islam, the only religion where slavery still exists.

It's got nothing to do with Islam.

It's because many 'Muslims' have gotten very very rich very quickly and they don't know how to behave.

There is nothing more vulgar than "new money".

It takes like 3 generations of being rich to start behaving like you got a pedigree (DOTARD being the exception).

Dude... that's kind of creepy. I don't even know you.

It's human nature.

The rich like pissing on the poor... that is a fact.

And when you have massive income inequality, like Arab Sheikhs vs some poor nanny from the Philippines, guess what is going to happen.

Just finished watching the first season of that new show, "Warrior" (excellent show!).

www.imdb.com

It's about SanFrancisco's China Town and the people who ran it.

Slavery in California started with Chinese workers being exploited. The only way to survive was to join a gang.

Again rich stepping on the necks of poor immigrants and exploiting them.

The raided ships and enslaved Americans

Hmmmmm....

The raids were such a problem coastal settlements were seldom undertaken until the 19th century. Between 1580 and 1680 corsairs (pirates) were said to have captured about 850,000 people as slaves and from 1530 to 1780 as many as 1,250,000 people were enslaved.

However, these numbers have been questioned by the historian David Earle.

Some of these corsairs were European outcasts and converts (renegade) such as John Ward and Zymen Danseker. Hayreddin Barbarossa and Oruç Reis, Turkish Barbarossa Brothers, who took control of Algiers on behalf of the Ottomans in the early 16th century, were also notorious corsairs. The European pirates brought advanced sailing and shipbuilding techniques to the Barbary Coast around 1600, which enabled the corsairs to extend their activities into the Atlantic Ocean.
--------------------

Piracy has nothing to do with Islam itself. If some Muslims were pirates, the rest never were. Just like some American Christians like to kill and rape Iraqis/Afghans/Libyans/Syrians... while the rest of them Christians are happy flipping burgers just as Jeebus told them to and have no blood on their hands.

And as we can see, Europeans joined in as pirates and brought in better tech to pirate even better.

At around the same time, the British employed pirates to mess with the Spanish.

etc etc

#9 | Posted by J_Tremain Communist and humanity are a serious oxymoron. 100 million dead in the 20th century prove it. Almost as big an oxymoron as Islam and peace.

So you are just turning to communism now?

I've been kinda-Communist since I was 10.

Let us know when your humanity is gone and you are a full blown communist.

If I was a full blown Communist, I would be walking on water like that other dude. In case you failed to notice he was Communist too.

Hated rich people.

#18 | Posted by J_Tremain, Got a verse to prove that? Or did you just invent that? Seems Jesus spent quite a lot of time with rich people. He was interred in a rich man's tomb after he was crucified, but Muslims don't believe that Isa was crucified or died.
