Trump busted lying again, what a shocker.

Throughout the week's negotiations, officials on both sides worried about what Mr. Trump would be willing to accept in exchange for pulling back on his tariff threat. That question hung over the talks, which were led one day by Vice President Mike Pence and included Mr. Pompeo and Mr. McAleenan.

Mexican officials opened the negotiations with the offer to deploy their new national guard troops against migrants, using a PowerPoint presentation to show their American counterparts that doing so would be a breakthrough in their ability to stop migrants from flowing north through Mexico, often in buses.

In fact, Mexican officials had already made the same promise months earlier when Ms Nielsen met in Miami with Ms. Sanchez and aides to Marcelo Ebrard, the Mexican foreign minister. The purpose of the meeting, according to people familiar with it, was to press the Mexicans to act faster.

If Trump had been Commander in Chief on June 6, 1944, yesterday we would have celebrated the anniversary of the president putting a tariff on German goods, then going golfing.

They weren't moving fast enough so your boy weaponized our economy to make them move faster. That's a hell of a negotiating tactic. Hell, I could've done that. Trump has nothing. Blustering idle threats instead of prowess.

Mexico? Hell, Trump could have taken action long ago by prosecuting employers. 11 prosecutions of employers? What a pitiful effort!! Obama's administration did tens of thousands of I9 audits and prosecuted 240 employers in 2012 alone. We didn't have a problem of this magnitude then, did we?

It's simple: Trump obviously wants to keep this as a campaign issue or he'd have done what works; audit and prosecute employers.

If he were serious, he'd also restore the $450m in aid that reduced poverty and violence in Central America, the elimination of which has only exacerbated the flow of migrants fleeing that violence.

He'd also order ICE to audit all employers for I9 compliance and prosecute every employer found to have hired illegals with or without fake documents. IRS has the computing power to do it in a day or two.

#7 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY at 2019-06-08 08:31 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

ICE only audited about 0.15 percent of employers last year. Less than 2/10th of one percent.

That's simply a lack of actual concern on the part of the Trump administration. If he's such a tough guy, why hasn't he ordered ICE to spend a week auditing every single employer in America for I9 compliance?

Because he doesn't want the problem actually solved. What would MAGAts have to scream over?

Enforcing laws against employers is a far more effective approach, as Clinton, Bush, and Obama's enforcement efforts proved. Trump's nonsense does not, as evidenced by the current state of affairs.

As funny as that is, it is not that far from what actually happened.

It's like last year's government shutdown all over again.

Pres Trump tossed away a budget deal and shutdown the government because Ms Coulter dis'd him. In the end when he ended his partial shutdown, Pres Trump wound up with less than what he would have gotten had he accepted the deal that was offered to him before the partial shutdown.

It's The Art of the Deal, a la Pres Trump.

Trump Hints at Details; Mexico Still Baffled by Farm Claim
www.bloomberg.com

...President Donald Trump hinted at additional measures between the U.S. and Mexico, a day after he vowed that Mexico would soon make "large" agricultural purchases from the U.S. as part of a deal on border security and illegal immigration that allowed Mexico to avoid U.S. tariffs.

"Some things not mentioned in yesterday's press release, one in particular, were agreed on. That will be announced at the appropriate time," Trump said Sunday in a series of four tweets about Mexico, the media and other matters.

Three Mexican officials said Saturday they were not aware of any side accord in the works, and that agricultural trade hadn't been discussed during three days of negotiations in Washington that culminated in a joint communique late Friday...

On Saturday Trump told his 61 million Twitter followers in an all-caps message that Mexico had agreed to "immediately begin buying large quantities of agricultural product from our great patriot farmers" following the border security deal. He retweeted the message overnight....

The State Department communique issued late Friday -- entitled the U.S.-Mexico Joint Declaration -- also made no mention of agricultural trade as part of the agreement.

The State Department didn't respond to an inquiry made through its press department. The White House declined to comment or offer proof to back up Trump's tweet. The Mexican foreign ministry's press office declined to comment....

During Obama's administration, they did thousands upon thousands of audits of I9/eVerify.

We didn't have the same level of people at our borders then.

This article is from July 2018 and states "since January"...

Employers Beware: ICE Is Ramping Up I-9 Audits to Record Levels - immigrationview.foxrothschild.com

By Alka Bahal on July 25, 2018

"More than 5,200 businesses around the country have been served with I-9 inspection notices since January in a two-phase nationwide operation conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in what appears to be the largest I-9 inspection action ICE has undertaken to date.

This latest round of workplace audits on employers clearly indicates that the I-9 inspection is now a top priority in U.S. immigration enforcement policy that targets employers rather than employees via the workplace raids of the past."

Why are you claiming, "Just now getting around to it....after 2 1/2 years" ??

#24 | Posted by SheepleSchism at 2019-06-10 02:14 AM | Reply

Your own article says they did 5200 in SEVEN months, Jan-July. Obama did 8000 in ONE month.

At the current rate of migration to our southern border they need to be doing employer audits @ 20,000 employer audits a month!!!

You are into some weird websites. Foxrothschild.com? Really? Go to bed.

The only thing stopping Trump & Co from enforcing employer I9 compliance is his lack of wanting to.

WTF do you think we have the eVerify system for? Computing power to do tens of thousands of random audits of employers any time he wants to.

Bozos like Trump doesn't use it while at the same time whining about a 'crisis' on our southern border. His schtick is all about fooling gullible morons like you. Because you are a gullible moron. Or a Russian troll. Or just a garden variety troll. A moron in either case.

We have it to pretend that we care about illegals. The problem is fake documents by illegals. Your solution is to punish employers for lying employees. We need to do ALL OF THE ABOVE. Mandatory eVerify would not even address the 50% of illegals that work under the table or resort to crime/welfare. Again - WE NEED ALL OF THE ABOVE. Until you repeat that phrase, you are for open borders because that is the net effect of your policies.

Hmmm:

Mexico Did Not Agree to Agricultural Deal Touted by President Trump, Officials Say June 9, 2019

President Donald Trump doubled down on his boast of "large" agricultural sales to Mexico as part of a deal on border security and illegal immigration that averted the threat of U.S. tariffs. But the deal as released had none, and three Mexican officials said they're not aware of any side accord.

Trump told his 61 million Twitter followers in an all-caps message on Saturday that Mexico had agreed to "immediately begin buying large quantities of agricultural product from our great patriot farmers." He repeated the tweet shortly after midnight Sunday in Washington.

But the communique issued late Friday by the State Department -- the U.S.-Mexico Joint Declaration -- made no mention of agricultural trade as part of the agreement.

Use math. 50% of illegals are 'estimated' to have paid taxes. So, 50% are working cash jobs or scamming welfare. Are you purposefully obtuse?

.....there is not, we can always go back to our previous, very profitable, position of Tariffs - But I don't believe that will be necessary.

eVerify is the system put in place for exactly the purpose of verifying SS#'s are valid, associated with the individuals presenting them, and that those individuals are citizens or legal residents allowed to work in the U.S.

Any employer in the U.S. has access to it, and it's easy to use. Fake ID's do not pass muster.
