William Ingraham Koch lives five blocks away from President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, where he is a member. The only one of the four billionaire Koch brothers to support Trump, Bill Koch even hosted a Trump campaign fundraiser at his Cape Cod vacation home in August 2016.

Once Trump's gone they're going to have to start a new support group called "Grifters Anonymous"

Pres Trump has shown that he will protect the wealthy from such annoyances as taxes. Is it any surprise that a member of his club seems to get special treatment from those in the Trump administration?

Mr Koch probably looks at the membership fee as a good investment --- the $200,000 per year membership fee saves millions per year in taxes.

Quite similar to the campaign donations to Republicans... a few hundred thou here and there gets a nice tax-cut bill passed, saving millions per year in taxes. Another good investment by the wealthy.

i've had that opinion for quite awhile. i remember when the first job reports of trumps presidency were released and a reporter said "mr. president you said that you didn't believe the figures that had been released by Obama that showed positive growth. you called those numbers fake. do you believe these numbers". trump said "those numbers were wrong, these are right". he lies. period.

@#4 ... i've had that opinion for quite awhile. ...

At this point, I am still giving credibility to the job numbers. They are "making sense" when looked at in context with what else is occurring in the economy.

However, should the job numbes start heading south, then I would not put it past Pres Trump to attempt (and succeed?) to manipulate them in his favor. It is what he appears to do when things go against him.

Just look at what he has done to the DoJ.

numbers presented to the masses are just political porn. i mean if you got a job or if you don't and you're looking, what difference does some random number make. those numbers are advertising that the sides use against each other

@#6 ... what difference does some random number make. ...

That's the thing.

They are not just some random numbers. They are the aggregate numbers. Maybe that is the aspect you don't understand.

Yeah, I get it. When you're looking for a job and the jobs report comes out good, it sucks. (I've been there. It really, really sucks.)

But that doesn't mean the jobs report is wrong. It just means that the jobs report is a summary of the overall condition, and it may not be representative of each individual situation.

Statistics suck. Big time. Because they are so opaque at time. And this is coming from someone who excelled at three dimensional integral and differential calculus (to channel Mr Rogers, can you say Maxwell's equations?).

But what I have learned is the difficulty I have in understanding what statistics are saying does not necessarily mean the statistics are wrong.

i understand exactly what they're supposed to mean..but show just one example of where the latest job numbers for example caused any demonstrable change in anything. like i said, it's advertising that each side uses to their advantage. down where i live the administrations come and go and job numbers are published...millions of jobs created but we don't see any.
when an american company like Ford hires 1000 new mexican workers in mexico or a few thousand in China or Viet Nam, we're told that we've added all these jobs implying they're american jobs IN america. that's BS

The job numbers are not supposed to cause change.

They are a snapshot of what is occurring.

Like a thermometer in your house. In the winter, if your thermometer says it is 50 degrees in your house, that does not make the house get warmer. Something needs to say, whoa, it's friggin's cold in here, turn on the furnace.

Politicians who read, understand and act upon the job numbers are the ones who should effect the change you seek.

And yes, I am as skeptical of them doing so as you are.

What????? I've been told by the (R)tards here and other places the IRS only favors the liberal elite and is unfair to the alt-right nimrods.

Looks like that is another CON.

Considering that Mar-a-Lago has a membership roster of many billionaires looking for some 'benefit by association', it seems to be paying off for at least one member of the Koch brothers who still support Trump.

"Is the swamp full yet?"

It's hard to tell. Sometimes Trump pulls the drain plug because it doesn't smell bad enough yet.
