Whitley had to go after screwing up something as simple as suppressing minority voting rights.

Don't celebrate too soon, REIN. It's Texas, a bastion of loyal Republicanism and a mini version of the Trump administration.

Gov. Abbott's choice for a replacement will no doubt be much better at deceit and (especially) subterfuge.

Whitley got ahead of his skis ~ tried too hard to grab the brass ring for his party. Normally, getting caught like this would be an embarrassing end to a political career. But as I said, this is Texas. Getting caught is just a lesson for how the next appointment can do it better.

Remember the Legend Tom Lelay and his gerrymandering scheme? It's Texas. It's in their blood.

If we all know how Texas behaves, and we still include them in any government process; it's more on us,amirite? I mean, ya try to be nice to the mean, stinky kid; but after a while . . .

The actual numbers have shown for some time that Texas is about to turn blue. Houston, Dallas, SA, Austin and Galveston have all turned the corner and are almost completely blue.

KUDZU

There are times when it's about to turn purple but then along comes a guy like SOS David Whitley to stem the tide. That's the way they roll in Texas.

If not him, the next guy will just work harder and smarter. The GOP governor is the pied piper.

Forget it, Kudzu. It's Texas.

Lol. This kind of stuff only gets covered when a republican is around. Voter suppression has gone on in st clair county il FOR GENERATIONS but gets no coverage as one party rule ensures nothing will change and the media abides.

" well karma when you feel like exacting retribution on my white persona..will you give me a heads up 'cause I don't know what the browns and blacks did to make you so upset and I'm just glad that us white folks have evidently walked the straight and narrow, more or less, compared to the coloreds and that coupled with your cosmic interdiction has allowed us the privileged position we've been afforded. Once again, thank you"

LOL

Pulled that deflection right out of yer keister did ya??

LOL You are not fooling us Comrade.

WE all know now exactly how Republicants operate. If they cannot get elected on their policies or their ideas then they manipulate and undermine the process to keep themselves in power as long as they can.

Or allow and even encourage hostile foreign adversaries to undermine the process for them.

"That left taxpayers on the hook for $450,000 in costs and attorney fees for the lawyers of the naturalized citizens and civil rights groups that alleged the review was unconstitutional and violated federal protections for voters of color."

And I bet Whitley is completely off the hook and won't liable for a dime.

Where have all the fiscal conservatives gone?
Long time passing!
