Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

In Mike Pence's first year as Indiana governor, his state put a young woman in prison for 20 years, claiming she'd taken an abortion drug even though Purvi Patel didn't have a trace of such a drug in her system. Indiana also held Bei Bei Shuai for 435 days in a brutal maximum security Marion County prison, facing 45 years to life for trying to kill herself, coincidently causing the death of her 33-week fetus. Utah charged 28-year-old Melissa Rowland with murder for refusing C-section, after one of the twins died in childbirth. Sixteen-year-old Rennie Gibbs was charged in Mississippi with "depraved heart murder" when her baby was born dead with his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. Prosecutors charged her with using cocaine. Angela Carder was ordered to have a C-section to deliver her baby before she died of cancer. Both she and the baby died from the procedure.

There were 793 documented, and probably thousands of lesser-known cases, of women being prosecuted for having miscarriages or attempting abortions between the time Roe v. Wade became the law of the land and 2014. Given that one out of four pregnancies ends in miscarriage, laws like Georgia's and Alabama's will require additional police staffs to track women and enforce these draconian laws.

The GOP are depraved monsters willing to kill and imprison needlessly, just to gain a political advantage. They are just as reckless with all life on earth with their denial of human caused climate change and perpetuation of the threat of nuclear annihilation. All the while pretending they care about babies, who, if they are actually born ,the GOP will be just as quick to deny them food, shelter, education and health care.

GOPers want to maximize the number of babies born to desparate women so they can get their pedo on.

Why else would you limit birth control and ban abortions and cut welfare?

They love desparate women with young kids.

This is it in a nutshell:

Rev. Dave Barnhart

"The unborn" are a convenient group of people to advocate for. They never make demands of you; they are morally uncomplicated, unlike the incarcerated, addicted, or the chronically poor; they don't resent your condescension or complain that you are not politically correct; unlike widows, they don't ask you to question patriarchy; unlike orphans, they don't need money, education, or childcare; unlike aliens, they don't bringall that racial, cultural, and religious baggage that you dislike; they allow you to feel good about yourself without any work at creating or maintaining relationships; and when they are born, you can forget about them, because they cease to be unborn. It's almost as if, by being born, they have died to you.

You can love the unborn and advocate for them without substantially challenging your own wealth, power, or privilege, without re-imagining social structures, apologizing, or making reparations to anyone. They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to claim you love Jesus but actually dislike people who breathe.

Prisoners? Immigrants? The Sick? The poor? Widows? Orphans? All the groups that are specifically mentioned in the Bible? They all get thrown under the bus for the unborn.

Serious question, Has anyone even read the Alabama abortion statute for themselves? Or do you believe what some corporate shill tells you?

Maybe Alabama is one of those states where the copyright to the public law is held by a private corporation that charges people to quote the actual text of the law.

dicnjo,

Get real, Republicans are the most extreme Corporate shills on the planet. They are ready to kill everyone just to make more money and they do this every day.

At least since 2016, Democrats have upheld traditional American values without much help from Republicans.

You've lost interest in such things. You just have.

Throw away line to mask what you must know to be true.

You people have re-defined yourselves in a radical and nasty way. Or, more likely, you just got lazy and below some critical level of personal awareness.

Hillbilly fascists.

This is the festering mind of a conservative.

Bill Clinton hasn't been in politics since the 90s and Hillary since 2016.

But DumbfknJO can't seem to get them out of his head. They've been living there, rent free, from the past 30 years. He's not the only one. Deplorables are triggered by Bill and Hill Clinton. They're sure Hill and Bill are the worst, all their conspiracies say so.

I get some of the Clinton criticism. But it is a Republican agenda they were implementing. Because they are Democrats they do put lipstick on that pig, Republicans just don't care and openly try to make things worse than the Clintons and under the orange sloth they are finally succeeding. Bill is a better person than Don. Don has actually made George look good, no small feat.

#22 | Posted by bayviking At what point is an individual responsible for their own situation in your eyes? At what point in your prospective is the government not responsible to provide everything to everyone? I believe failure teaches more than success, unless you are a leftist, then your failure is always someone else's fault.
