Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The company announced on Thursday that it will include a new rating, which is widely being referred to as an "adversity score," of between 1 and 100 on students' test results. An average score is 50, and higher numbers mean more disadvantage. The score will be calculated using 15 factors, including the relative quality of the student's high school and the crime rate and poverty level of the student's neighborhood.

The SAT is simply a predictive measure of one's likelihood of being able to complete a 4 year degree by having a strong correlation between SAT score and college completion - it is NOT and IQ test. By adding points, you are breaking the correlation of SAT performance to 4 year degree success. At that point, the SAT has no meaning and should be dropped completely. The SAT is not an IQ test as it does not solely measure one's ability to process problems - it is combination of the that AND acquired knowledge. If we now want to say that only ability to process information matters (I can get on board with that), than the SAT should be scrapped and we switch to the Stanford-Binet IQ test. I tested into Mensa and triple 9's my senior year in high school. We took 2 tests to qualify and you only needed a 98% for Mensa membership. I scored higher on the non-Stanford Binet IQ test but thought the Stanford Binet was a much more representative test. I scored similar on the ACT test, I never took the PSAT or SAT as I was raised in the Midwest.

"Adversary score"? I'm game. Where do I sign up? Do I have to read this?

Not a bad idea. Eliminates the advantage of expensive coaching. You can't coach IQ.

Very true. It would be the most equitable solution until progressives realize the % of IQ that is genetic.

"until progressives realize the % of IQ that is genetic."

Is any % greater than zero acceptable to you?

It's your claim, not mine.

What percentage is genetic?

Latest research is 80-86%. But again, is any non-zero number acceptable to you?

I love the guy. Normally he's an insane SJW, but every so often he bats one out of the ballpark. It's like knowing Bruce Banner or something, only you don't know what causes the transformation.

Check out what Professor Doom had to say about this (it's funny, brief and to the point, and depressing as hell): professorconfess.blogspot.com

Not seriously,

Normally he's an insane SJW, but every so often he bats one out of the ballpark.

Never have I seen it... he's a literal generalist, a literalist on your posts, and then over generalizes in his.
