Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, May 17, 2019

Grumpy Cat died at home following complications from a urinary tract infection on May 14, 2019. Grumpy Cat, was an American internet celebrity cat. She was known for her permanently "grumpy" facial appearance, which was caused by an underbite and feline dwarfism.[1][2][3] She came to prominence when a photograph of her was posted on September 22, 2012, on social news website Reddit by Bryan Bundesen, the brother of her owner Tabatha Bundesen.[4][5] Lolcats and parodies created from the photograph by Reddit users went viral. She was the subject of a popular internet meme in which negative, cynical images are made from photographs of her.[6]

Grumpy Cat could kick the rear out of dogs twice her size. She was the Frank Cotton of the feline world.

Don't look in the box.

Then she can be alive or dead at the same time!

Wait.. she is already dead. So...nevermind.

Is being grumpy a health issue? I am not giving up my favorite hobby! How about you Danni and Nulli? You in on this with me? Let's look into this.

Or you can give us your address because I'm sure even the cats in our vicinity are miserable.

Cat people freak me out.

The only people I'm more wary of are people who have dogs that hate or mistrust them.

We've had many dogs over the years. Usually there are 3 living here at a time, with full privileges and a dog door to let themselves out to a large, fenced in back yard when they need or want to go out.

Neither my wife or I in our previous or married lives have ever had a cat. That changed last summer when this young, super skinny little guy showed up at the side door asking for help. My wife is allergic to cat hair (causes red rashes), so we fed him outside and put a shelter out there for him to use. That lasted about 2 weeks. When temps began their march to 90 degrees it was simply too hot to leave him out there, so inside he came, and off to the vet for exams/neutering/vaccines ... and inside.

We named him "Kato" because he's young and likes to commit 'sneak attacks' like Kato from the Pink Panther movies. All in good fun. He's young and needs to have fun. Cat toys have been accumulating ...

He seems he considers himself more dog than cat. Guess that's natural since he was only about 4-5 months old when he showed up, and the pals he's hung around with here are dogs. When the treat bags are rattling in the kitchen I'll look down and there will be dog-dog-dog-cat, all sitting perfectly in a semicircle waiting for their treats.

The dogs have all been cool with him and vice versa. Even the smallest of our dogs - a once feral little guy we pulled off the streets on a 10 degree night, and our self-appointed 'chief of security' - will curl up with him, back to back. It's been an interesting experience having a cat around for the first time, and watching different species live in harmony. Well, except when he starts batting at the tail of the 10 year old girl dog we adopted just before he showed up. She's really chill, but you don't mess with her tail :-)

My cat Pirate (yeah, lost an eye - still trying to find the right kitty eye-patch for him) has a thing for nibbling on my toes. I love the weather down here and love to go barefoot or in sandals. It's sort of tickles but it's annoying. Well, at least to me. I was thinking of selling him to Boaz a $Trillion in Trumans.)
