Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

President Trump has never been coy about his desire to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. While that pledge has faced setbacks in Congress, his administration has managed to gut Obamacare by other means, like cutting financial support. The executive branch can also undermine the law in subtler ways. According to a new report, the Trump administration has been systematically wiping crucial information about the ACA from government websites over the past two years.

Disgraceful:

"The report was published Wednesday by the Sunlight Foundation, an open government group whose Web Integrity Project monitors some 30,000 government pages for updates and alterations. Looking at sites administered by the Department for Health and Human Services, it documents 26 instances in which information related to the Affordable Care Act was substantially altered or removed. Some of the changes were subtle. Others, including the disappearance of an 85-page website devoted to the ACA, were sweeping. Taken together, the researchers argue, the modifications are tantamount to government censorship and point to an increasing need for oversight of government websites."

Trump wants to repeal and then not replace because he honestly doesn't care about the millions of people who depend on Obamacare, if it is named after a black man Trump hates it. Racist, evil piece of crap and all you Trump supporters own that. Deep down you share his racis evilness and love it that he does what you think. I feel sorry for all of you but more importantly, I feel sorry for your families. Hateful scum, that's what you are. And I seriously do mean every word of that. People will die just because you can't stand it that a black guy got a healthcare bill passed. May you share in their plight.

"The executive branch can also undermine the law in subtler ways."

Because that is what the Presidents job is. Undermining the Law. It says so right there in the Constitution. And in Two Corinthians.

Why isn't this grounds for impeachment?

Because the President has accumulated a lot of lee-way in making determinations how to enforce current laws. It is good to hear you echoing Jeff's misgivings that the President was accumulating and abusing their power. I wish it hadn't taken so long.

" It is good to hear you echoing Jeff's misgivings that the President was accumulating and abusing their power."

Jeff will fully vent his frustration the next time in the voting booth, when he pulls the lever for all Trump's enablers.

That'll show ‘em.

Like when? When he did the same thing to immigration that Reagan did? That's about all you've got.

Please, give up the fake equivalencies. It's pathetic.

When you can't make a valid point pretend that you can?

The Simpson–Mazzoli Act or the Reagan Amnesty, signed into law by Ronald Reagan on November 6, 1986, is an Act of Congress which reformed United States immigration law.
Please, Please tell me what Act of Congress Obama signed into Law on immigration. Not an EO like DAPA and DACA.

Please, give up the fake equivalencies. You're pathetic.

Please tell me what Act of Congress Obama signed into Law on immigration. "

As soon as you tell us which Law that Congress passed for immigration I will tell you which one Obama signed.

You do know that the President does not make the law? He can only sign or veto what Congress passes. If they pass nothing then that is what he can sign. And since they could pass nothing and people were being harmed by that he attempted to help the People by executive order. At which time Republicans had a coronary and declared Obama was trying to be a dictator and he should be impeached.

You do remember all that right? I know it is difficult because Trump now uses Executive Orders to willy nilly and to even harm people so it does seem counter intuitive now.

Trump said that Obama couldn't make a deal -- and so "now he has to use executive action, and this is a very, very dangerous thing that should be overridden easily by the Supreme Court." He added: "We're looking now at a situation that should absolutely not pass muster in terms of constitutionality" and argued that Obama "certainly could be impeached" for it.

Donnerboy:
Sycophant's false claim was that Obama did the same thing on immigration as Reagan did. See it up there? I even quoted it. Please try to pay attention, your ignorance of the conversation is showing.

You also said:

"Please tell me what Act of Congress Obama signed into Law on immigration."

I posted it at the lead to my comment.

And THAT is what I responded to.

Please keep up.

Comrade.

You jumped into the middle of a conversation asking me to again prove Sycophant's statement as false? Glad to hear it. No, there was no immigration law passed by congress to Obama, which is why we both know that Sycophant was full of ---- when he claimed '[Obama] did the same thing to immigration that Reagan did'. Since there was no law for Obama to sign, his actions in regards to immigration weren't the same as Reagan.
Why are you asking me to point out a law that we both know doesn't exist? The fact that it doesn't exist being the proof I was using to show that Sycophant's pathetic attempt at equivalences was fake. Like the point you think you're making.
Hopefully at least you've caught up to the conversation.
Moron.

False equivalencies?

Obama holds the record for the number of SCOTUS smackdowns of any president in history, at least so far.

What is pathetic is the false equivalency between Reagan and Bush implementing a newly passed piece of legislation vs Obama unilaterally imposing DACA/DAPA.

On topic...ACA is the law of the land and Trump took an oath to faithfully execute the laws.

Add this to the list of impeachable offenses.

Your debate about "false equivalences" is between you and Syco.

You asked about what laws Obama passed and I addressed that.

You cannot blame Obama for not passing an immigration law. Unless you are going to blame Trump or and other President not "passing" a law.

You blame him for signing a law or vetoing one. You can also blame them for their intentions.

That was MY point and the point still stands and you can use it in your argument any way you like.
