Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has seen his support drop sharply among the young voters that have powered his rise in Democratic politics, according to a new poll. The survey from Morning Consult finds that Sanders's support among people between the ages of 18 and 29 has dropped from 45 percent in March to 33 percent in May.

Sanders's support with the youngest voters, who propelled his surprising challenge to then-Democratic contender Hillary Clinton in 2016, has steadily declined in the poll since topping out at 46 percent in late February.

Overall, former Vice President Joe Biden has opened up a big lead over the Democratic field, coming in at 39 percent support among Democratic primary voters polled, followed by Sanders at 19 percent and Sens. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) and Kamala Harris (Calif.) at 8 percent each. South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg is at 6 percent and former Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-Texas) is at 5 percent.

This was surprising to me, I thought that Bernie was going to stay strong with the younger voters. I wonder who is cannibalizing his support, it certainly isn't Biden.

Andrew Yang?

He was surprisingly compelling on Fox and Friends when touting the UBI policy talk.

Not that millenials would have taken notice via F&F, but he's been quite effective getting that message out that fits in line with Bernie.

Yang isn't even getting 2% and Bernie has dropped 12% in the 18-29 demo. I'm not sure what that drop translates in the overall poll results, but it has to be at least a couple of %.

I don't believe polls accurately reflect anything. I suspect they're used to create the illusion of consensus.

If you collect enough data at the front desk, you can have it say anything you want from the back room.

It's social engineering and propaganda.

Rut-roh, Mayor Pete is approaching the Beto line, I wonder if he is going to have to re-introduce himself to the voters as well?

Mayor Pete is really going to struggle with the Latino and African American voter groups.

The only surprising thing is that he was every popular to begin with. I can understand the appeal for young, unsuccessful people. They are fresh out of school and find their gender studies degree only qualifies them for 2nd shift barista. Their crushing debt from school loans is difficult to pay back on $10/hour. For guys, forget dating. The available girls from their universities are either Tinder-sluts, transgendered, lesbian, or uninterested in sex given the men are basically losers.

With this backdrop - I can see someone wanting to blow up the system. Wipe debt off the books. Have a job! Have a girl!

Your choices are Bernie or Trump - and if you a low-T or spend time on social media - you are likely voting Bernie in the hopes you support might let you sniff a girl.

He could rebrand himself as a female booty-judge and claim to be straight. Worked for Obama.

I detect some latent sexual fantasies. Does Brock spit on you while pushing in your stool?

I am a bit worried about you. Were you the victim of a male sexual assault? Don't feel ashamed if this was assault. Report it.

Its Andrew Yang taking Bernie's support. Probably some Mayor Pete too, for the time being.

That would make sense but their numbers haven't risen commensurate with the drop referenced in the article, nor have Warrens.

The DNC?

With all the shenanigans that we now know that the DNC pulled in 2016, that is a very good guess.
