Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, May 15, 2019

House Democrats are in a bind. The White House refuses to cooperate with their investigations. In response, Democrats have tried to retaliate, trying to hold AG Barr in contempt of Congress, subpoenaing Trump's tax returns and pressing for more information about the DOJ decision to argue that the ACA should be completely overturned. But they're running out of moves, especially with impeachment off the table for now.

Safety isn't an option at this point, which is why the Democrats have to bite the bullet and start impeachment proceedings.

If it becomes necessary, Pelosi, having more balls than RoC and Trump combined, will pull the trigger on impeachment.

It just isn't necessary yet, and all of RoCheney's touting of Trump's Talking Points of "bring it on" isn't going to change that.

Let's hear from Mueller in public testimony and see some NY state indictments/revelations that would better prepare the country to accept impeachment as more than just partisan politics.

None of the options listed are particularly good ones, the only one that has any precedent is trying to arrest people in Contempt but the likelihood that Congress is going to send it's Sgt. at Arms (62 year old Paul Irving) to the DOJ to arrest AG Barr is near zero.

#6 The only option that really made sense - outside of impeachment, of course - was the using the courts. Granted, that's a slow process but it comes with legitimacy if the courts rule the right way. A frustrated GOP had a lot of success in court against the Obama administration. Plus, we've seen some judges join #TheJudicialResistance which makes success even more likely.

Or, they can impeach. It's a tough political argument given where the public currently sits, but if handled professionally and without histrionics, based upon what is in the Mueller Report alone, it's not impossible to build momentum toward public support for it.

using the courts.

The courts will take too long and IMO give Trump more fodder on the campaign trail than an open impeachment proceeding to have an impact on the 2020 election. The Dems aren't interested in the long game and I don't blame them, anything that will take more than 2 years won't do them any good in 2020.

It's a tough political argument given where the public currently sits, but if handled professionally and without histrionics, based upon what is in the Mueller Report alone, it's not impossible to build momentum toward public support for it.

Agreed, as I have said, if the Dems in the House got their best former prosecutors to lay out the evidence, then the swing voters may go their way.

The courts in NY. Upon indictment, congress is compelled to impeach.
At which time we can all enjoy a perp walk from the white house, in handcuffs.

And, no, the Constitution does not protect a sitting president from being indicted. Or any other elected or appointed servant to the People.

At this point, the strongest (and perhaps only) option the DNC has is Joe Biden.

The moment the DNC lost the senate, Trump was secured for 2 more years. Impeachment was off the table from the beginning because no one wants Pence installed as POTUS. And Trump wasn't going anywhere anyhow without a fight. Everyone's also worried that Trump will plunge America into an actual civil war. The problem is that he would. Trump has the edge as long as he doesn't mess with the status quo. The moment either party freaks the status quo, the party is done politically. Status quo meaning America can wake up in the morning, drink expensive coffee, eat crappy breakfast at Mickey D's, and watch the Super Bowl -- White America don't give a fuqk who's driving the clown car.

As far as minorities are concerned, blacks lost their position and their political clout to the Hispanics. And the Hispanics are slow and steadily growing their own resistance. By the end of the next generation, Hispanic Americans will be a political super machine. The census takers agree with this assessment.

At this point, it is a lost cause and the Dems will just try to limit their losses in 2020 to hold some level of power/influence. With the weak slate of Dem candidates for President, there is going to be a down ballot effect as Dems stay home and Trump steamrolls them. It will be the ultimate slap in the face as the Dem assumption was that Trump would fail miserably as president and 2016 would be a blessing in disguise as they could clear out the old wood in the party and expose the failure of GOP policies. Instead, their 'strong bench' they were crowing about in 2016 is nonexistent. Trump has brought on economic prosperity not seen in generations. Their Lib members of the court are retiring or should be put out to pasture.

I predict Trump will increase his margin of victory in 2020 vs. 2016. I think Minnesota flips along with Nevada at a minimum - along with majorities in the Senate and regaining the House. This glitch in the matrix is the new normal - and is it the Democrat's fault. Focus on workers rather than illegals. Focus on health care rather than investigations. Stop hoping for more wars and contain the hysterical shrieking of people like AOC and Waters - they hurt your credibility.

The Dems had a chance to learn from 2016 - their takeaway was temporary voter insanity and Russian collusion rather than decades of anti-American economic policies delivered in SJW language from Libs.

in the Mueller Report alone, it's not impossible to build momentum toward public support for it.

Well.... good luck with that... Impeachment will disrupt the market. Combine that with the fact that Democrats are trying to shut down business via the "New" Green Deal... means only ONE thing... Corporation and Business donations will start drying up. No campaign money... No congressional seat...

If that wasn't enough... time has passed... enough time to gather data to start producing stats from various government sources... turns out... TRUMP WAS RIGHT... This too will be on the minds of American Voters...

For 2017, data from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey shows non-citizens comprise about 7 percent of the country's population, but the 2018 Annual Report and Sourcebook of Federal Sentencing Statistics shows they committed more than 40 percent of all federal crimes.

Immigration cases accounted for the largest single group of offenses in fiscal year 2018, comprising 34.4 percent of all reported cases. Cases involving drugs, firearms, and fraud were the next most common types of offenses after immigration cases. Together these four types of offenses accounted for 82.9 percent of all cases reported to the Commission in fiscal year 2018.

Either way... time has run out for the Democrats. Now it's a question of survival... and the one's that will are distancing themselves from the Impeachment mess and Pelosi. You'll soon see a "I'm not with that group" forming soon which will only grow larger the closer we get to election time...

Nothing to see here folks. Our fearless bonespur leader will protect us all from the immanent invasion by Iran.

WHICH is entirely possible since the Democrats...

REFUSED to build the Wall.
REFUSED to reform our immigration policy.
REFUSED to arrest and jail illegal immigrants.
REFUSED to assist and provide information to Federal Officers.
REFUSED to enforce the Immigration Laws already on the books.

In short, If Americans die... thank a Democrat...

Because only THEY made it possible.

The "one" thing you can be sure of...

Democrats will REFUSE to take the blame...

Does that include disenfranchising voters and conspiring with Foreign Governments and 10,000 lies now ??

Just trying to under the new ground rules.

As I recall your side investigating your political opponents for years to bring their poll numbers down and having Russian hack their e-mails is SOP ok by you.

Is all legal if you strongly deny it. Right?

"REFUSED to build the Wall. "

Acting like "The wall" is the solution is retarded. What they have Refused is to act Deplorable.

"REFUSED to reform our immigration policy."

Fake News and an Alternative Reality. Republicans are not interested in reform. McConnell's promises of debating the issue are worthless just like Trump's. McConnell to to debate it in the Senate after the Schumer Shutdown to save the Dreamers and we are still waiting.

"REFUSED to arrest and jail illegal immigrants."

Refused to violate human rights and dignity.

In other words, refused to act Deplorable.

"REFUSED to assist and provide information to Federal Officers."

Oh boo boo!! Again just not cooperating with Deplorables.

If they are obstructing Justice then take them to court. Isn't that how we do it now?? The President is the chief enforcer of the Law and is setting the example.

"REFUSED to enforce the Immigration Laws already on the books."

If they are not enforcing the Law then sue them. Investigate them! Take em to court. Or vote them out. You need to keep up bro.

That's how we do it in Trumplandia.

Actually campaign for 2020, bring CREDIBLE side as and a quality candidate.

Ideally he/she won't violate federal law and change their campaign slogan ---------------- times!

That's an option.

Democrats must take legal action against Trump's obstruction. Time is not on their side but they cannot afford to roll over for their criminal nemisis either.

The entire Russiagate is a waste of time, but not because nothing improper happened. It's just more important to put forth a platform and plan that is better than the orange sloth's false promises. Elizabeth Warren is doing that. Will the idiots listen?

The Mueller Report? By Robert Mueller?

No collusion.

No obstruction.

FISA warrants based on Steele Dossier, which the State Department debunked a week before the first FISA app.

You're thinking you can "build momentum" with that report?

So, impeachment next week?

There is NO next move. The Democrats have lost the millennials... meaning they have lost the presidential 2020 election...

Latest Zigby...

President Trump has crossed the critical 50% approval line needed to win reelection as millennials and independents are moving to embrace him, according to a new survey.

The latest Zogby Poll put Trump's approval rating at 51%, his highest ever in the trademarked survey..

Like a rat leaving a sinking Impeachment ship, Pelosi has started back peddling.... almost to the point of kissing Trumps ass... not there yet, but almost...

Pelosi is out to save Pelosi's ass. To hell with her fellow democrats...
