The state Republican Party fell so far behind financially in recent months that it missed payments to insurers and racked up nearly $600 a month in interest on a maxed-out credit card, according to a draft of an internal report.

The GOP are economic experts said no one ever.

Some consultants "had few, if any, discernible job responsibilities or expectations of deliverables," the report says.

The primary reason for being a Republican, aside from hatred of abortion and immigrants, is to make oneself rich. Stealing is an approved method.

I don't believe most of them really hate either, it's just an act to appeal to their ignorant base. In truth they just want the money and power, they don't really care about anything else.

Up until the late 70's the Republican party was basically ambivalent when it came to abortion since, from their point of view, it was a personal responsibility issue and something that the government should keep out of. They also treated the whole gay rights issue pretty much the same way except for some rabid, mostly in the South, politicians who pandered to the worst elements of the religious far-right. However, when those same religious-right people started to promise the GOP leadership that they would bring not only votes, but large amounts of money, if they would come out against abortion (and while they were at it, gay rights as well), Republican leaders were quick to give-up their long held beliefs in keeping the government out of the personal lives of Americans. After all, when it came to money, principles be damned.

As they say, the rest is history.

#4 not money: it's that base that hates, therein lies the true issue: power.
the power to hate is more appealing to the Right, than the power to love.

money helps secure the power to hate.

The article states the Sentor Ron Johnson is now the de facto head of the state Republican Party. Shudders are going through the state GOP.

What's incredible is that Tony Evers was an incredibly weak and uninspiring candidate, and he still beat Walker. If Dems actually ran energetic progressives, Wisconsin would be a blue state (except for its gerrymandered legislature).

That must have taken a crap ton of mental gymnastics to come up with that post.
You are giving Boazo, Snippy, and FishyP a run for their money in the race to be the dumbest poster here award.

#13: That is some pretty elite company Maverick is vying with. I don't know if a few comments here and there are really enough to exult him into the ranks of such amazingly stupid posters. Maverick is really going to have to keep it up if he is serious about wanting to win the "dumbest poster here award". Lord knows --------- won't go down without a bitter fight.
