Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

American Oversight today announced the launch of its State Accountability Project, a new initiative to expose government corruption at the state and local level -- starting with a series of public records requests aimed at uncovering voter-suppression activities in Florida, Georgia, and Texas. Already, we have filed nearly 50 public records requests with state and county officials in those states, seeking copies of communications with voting-restriction advocates like former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach or the Heritage Foundation's Hans von Spakovsky as well as communications with the American Legislative Exchange Council, a conservative political organization that supplies state legislatures with draft model legislation. "Voter suppression is the corruption of democracy itself, and most of that corruption isn't happening in Washington, D.C., but in the state and local governments that set the rules for voting," said Austin Evers, executive director of American Oversight. "American Oversight has spent two years using public records requests and litigation to expose the truth and hold federal officials accountable, and we're now using that same model to fight corruption in the states."

Good.

Depriving people their right to vote has long been a GOP victory plan. Start with that asinine law in TX where you can't drive together to vote.

Time to expose these cockroaches to the light of day.

Why bother? Voter suppression isn't a big deal if you're not
-dark-skinned
-a college student
-an ex-con
-young
-old
-Dem voter
-poor
-in a Red state
-disabled
-without a car or reliable public transit
-Native American living on a reservation
-lacking of photo ID
-without a voting record for the past umpteen years, without fail
-so unstable as to have changed addresses in the recent past
-foolish enough to have changed your name, like married or divorced folks do

or about 43 other situations...

If you can't vote in today's election you are a complete moron and should not be able to vote anyway. Why have we never heard someone say they could not vote? Never heard it. This gets pushed again as yet another excuse why Clinton lost.

All of the voter suppression evidence and suspicions against the Left will be ignored. All of it against the Right will be used.

And we STILL have commenters on here who blame the Right for discrimination. It's as if so many people have truly lost all reading comprehension and logic. You want to be in a party that does nothing but discriminate against those who don't have the same opinion as you. Seriously, there has been so much evidence proving the Dems are just as corrupt as Reps when it comes to getting votes and yet you still just blindly ignore it? What causes that? Why would you blatantly choose to do that? It has to be a choice because, damn, I just can't bring myself to believe people can be that uneducated. I know we have varying levels of education which doesn't give anyone the right to talk down about any of them, but this is a form of ignorance much lower than just not being educated. The only way I can grasp my mind about something so far below what makes sense is that you commenters are actually trying to be this far below making sense. No need to look for any other reason of why America is in the state it is in.

Broward County Florida Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes, left, and Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during a campaign rally at Rev Samuel Deleove Memorial Park on November 1, 2016 in Ft Lauderdale, Florida.

According to multiple sources and witnesses, Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes and employees are engaging in mass voter fraud in multiple forms. While People's Pundit Daily has uncovered instances of election fraud in other counties around the state–including Pasco and Lee–Broward is large enough that it could potentially swing the state.

It has been widely reported that black turnout in the state–and in other battleground states such as North Carolina and Ohio–is way down from 2012 levels. In the past few days, the Clinton campaign and their Democratic surrogates have been touting "a surge" in turnout among black voters in Broward County, which is overseen by Snipes.
