In 2016, Donald Trump's campaign learned Russia was working to help him win, and many of its members actively sought to exploit that assistance. In 2020, now possessing the powers of the Executive branch, it's pressuring a foreign government to assist Trump's reelection campaign. The effort consists of Trump's agents lobbying Ukraine to smear his political rivals.

"So why would Ukraine pursue baseless charges? Because its government has a strong interest in mollifying Trump. The Times reported last year that Ukraine halted its cooperation with the Mueller probe because it couldn't risk provoking Trump.

"The cases are just too sensitive for a government deeply reliant on United States financial and military aid, and keenly aware of Mr. Trump's distaste for the investigation by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, into possible collusion between Russia and his campaign, some lawmakers say."

"President Donald Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani dismissed suggestions he is encouraging a foreign government to impact the upcoming US election with his trip to Ukraine, telling CNN on Friday that it is not meddling because the 2020 general election is a year and a half away."

Good to know you have no argument for the Rudy G comparison... and that projecting you and his obvious brain damage has become your go-to insult. Quite pathological that is.

Donald Trump is a desperate man resorting to desperate measures. 2020 is an existential threat for him. He'll do much, much worse to stay in office.

So far, zero. He hasn't managed to start any. At this pace, he could end up the least interventionist president in modern history.

Unless he screws it up by bombing Iran.
