This is a violation of the Constitution if Orange Hitler starts a war with Iran but, hey, the Constitution is just toilet paper to his unAmerican supporters. If there are threats from Iran then f*****g tell Congress what they are and let them decide. Hopefully the House of Representatives can prevent this attempt to campaign for 2020 by starting a war as every previous Republican President has done since Nixon. Trust me on this, I will never support another unnecessary war and hopefully some of the Trump supporters will awaken from their comas to also oppose this completely unnecessary murder of thousands of people just to help Trump win an election. He should go to prison for this.

Like I've been saying, looks like a false flag is on its way.
Expect this criminal administration to claim we were shot at in the next week or 2. They need a distraction from russiagate.

US responds to threat should be treated as a total lie and should be rephrased as Trum threatens Iran for purely political purposes. Realize as well that a B-52 is a very vulnerable aircraft and Iran has lots of antiaircraft missiles So fly one of these slow aircraft across Iran, get it shot down and then use it as an excuse to start a war. Only evil Republicans would use our airmen as pawns in an attempt to dare the other side to shoot.

"You supported intervention in Libya. Get over yourself and go read the War Powers Act."

We supported that along with France and Great Britain and I stated at the time that we should support our allies who have supported us in Afghanistan. And that is hardly comparable to starting an unnecessary war with Iran. I opposed the invasion of Iraq strongly and we can all see how that turned out and G.W. Bush even said while Gov. of Texas that he would start a war with Iraq to increase his own power and use the popularity he predicted it would bring him to privatize SS. He should be in prison right now.

The Libyan people had formed a revolution against their Dictator and the US joined Allies in aiding them; managing not to put 500,000 boots on the ground.

The Iraqi people had not revolted against Saddam, and GW wanted have an "August roll-out" for his War President re-election campaign, so he put 500,000 boots on the ground.

To RoCheney, these two things are the same.

The Iraqi people had not revolted against Saddam

Corky obviously needs to learn a little history:

The Persecution of Feyli Kurds under Saddam Hussein, also known as the Feyli Kurdish genocide, between 1970 and 2003, it is estimated that around 25,000 Feyli Kurds died due to captivity and torture during that uprising.

The 1988 Al-Anfal uprising resulted in the death of 50,000-100,000 Kurds (although Kurdish sources have cited a higher figure of 182,000)

The Halabja poison gas attack occurred in the period 15–19 March 1988 during the Iran–Iraq War when chemical weapons were used by the Iraqi government forces and thousands of civilians in the Iraqi Kurdish town of Halabja for rebelling against Saddam resulted in at least 15,000 deaths.

The 1991 Shia uprising resulted in 25,000-100,000 civilians and rebels killed during the Saddams brutal suppression of the 1991 uprisings.

In June 1994, the Hussein regime in Iraq established severe penalties in the Shia south and the Kurdish north in response to continued uprisings, including amputation, branding and the death penalty for criminal offenses such as theft, corruption, currency speculation and military desertion, while government members and Saddam's family members were immune from punishments ranging around these crimes. Between 50,000 and 200,000 Kurds and Shia are believed to be killed as a result of these uprisings. These deaths resulted in the expansion of the US no-fly zone by President Clinton.

FYI: "The B-52A first flew in 1954, and the B model entered service in 1955. A total of 744 B-52s were built with the last, a B-52H, delivered in October 1962." Some of the pilots flying them may have had grandfathers who flew them -- think about it.

It is my understanding that they are going to get funding for the "J" designation in 2020, with new engines, avionics, defensive suite, sensors, ejection systems, and flight data recorder, which will match or exceed the B-1B in capability.

Now all they need to do is to attach the proposed belly cannon/railgun/laser talked about for the B-1B and you will have the mythical Megafortress from the Dale Brown novels.

"Instead Europe is over run with immigrants, 70+ just died yesterday, trying to make the journey."

That's what happens when invaders like the USA disrupt the situation, you simply can't convince me or anyone else that our invasion of Iraq wasn't the disruption that caused all of this. Libya, Syria, etc. would not have been so disrupted had Dubya not wanted to use a war in the ME to further his career and eventually enable him to privatize SS here in the U.S. He said that while he was the Governor of Texas. Sorry, no passes on comments like he made before he even was President, an office that everyone knew Karl Rove stole for him.

"The Halabja poison gas attack occurred in the period 15–19 March 1988 during the Iran–Iraq War when chemical weapons were used by the Iraqi government forces and thousands of civilians in the Iraqi Kurdish town of Halabja for rebelling against Saddam resulted in at least 15,000 deaths."

And who do you think sold them those weapons? We sold weapons to both sides of that war. I actually knew a guy who was exporting outboard motors to them for fighting in marsh areas, I couldn't find them on a map but he could, and making a fortune doing it. Capitalism has its purposes but unfortunately, one of them is supporting war, if it will bring the capitalist a profit.

I really do wish that one of you defenders of American foreign policy over the last 50 years could explain to me why our corporations should have profited from every war while all they really produced was misery and death for people who didn't even know what they were fighting for.

And John Bolton, God I hope he has a heart attack, is trying to gin up another war in Iran yet you still support the President allowing him to do it even though he campaigned as a anti-war person.

This issue, war with Iran, will define his Presidency if he allows these lunatics; Pompeo, Bolton, etc. to get us into another unnecessary, expensive, disastrous war.

That we are even discussing this demonstrates his weakness. His total lack of serious thought about anything. His racism....He rejected the Iran deal on nukes purely because Obama did it and he is black. That is just a fact.

Nobody wants a war with Iran. No one in their right minds anyway.

No one wanted Pakistan getting nukes. You/they got nukes. The world did not end.

No one wanted The Norks getting nukes.

They got nukes. The world did not end. (Yet)

You wanna stop Iran from getting nukes how about YOU start a war with them. I prefer to negotiate and bring them back into the fold and back into the League of Nations. We had a deal. It was not the best deal. But it was not the worst deal and it was by far better than war.

I mean look at Pakistan. They have nukes. They are liars and thieves and some are very nasty people (but there very also fine people!) And sometimes they stir up trouble and they foster terror in their midst and support terror in other countries. But they also seem to be trying to behave as a Nation. Mostly.

The Iranian people are not my enemies and if my President ever starts killing them that will be a horrible thing.

Nobody wants a war with Iran.

USA does.

USA smells oil and sees brown people who can't fight back.

American recipe for instant ------.

No one wanted Pakistan getting nukes.

The world was too dumb to... OK.. time for a story:

There was a point where Pakistan was stuck when it was making it's first nuke. I mean totally stuck.

And then Ronald Reagan (great friend of Pakistan, btw) sent President Zia a box with a model of a nuke with a note saying, "We know this is what you are working on. Please stop it right now. The CIA knows EXACTLY what kind of nuclear device you have designed. This is an accurate model. This shows how much we know. We know everything. Stop right now or we will make you stop."

This was intended to shock and awe President Zia and the leadership into compliance.

Instead, Zia called Samar Mubarak and his team and pointed to the model...

"I have been told you were stuck. How the Hell did the CIA get all this info on our nuke when you haven't even made it yet?"

One of the scientists said, "We haven't. But now we can.... look at the triggering mechanism in the model. We hadn't even thought of THAT!"

They tried it out... and hey it worked! Reagan was of course told "OK we stopped".

Thank you Ronald Reagan. Gawd Bless you sir.

You wanna stop Iran from getting nukes how about YOU start a war with them.

Bite your tongue man.

Pakistan doesn't start wars. They end them.

Pakistan can overwhelm Iran electronically in an instant. And then it can finish them off in a day without nukes. With nukes, it won't even take 5 minutes.

And then Pakistan will go up in smoke.

20% of the population is Shia and some of them will be very loyal to Iran. Pakistan doesn't need or want a civil war. It's already got it's hands full.

Best solution... let USA kill and be killed. It's what USA wants... why stop them.

I prefer to negotiate and bring them back into the fold

No you don't. That is not the American way.

stop Iran from getting nukes

Iran will never have a nuke.

Want to know why?

When Pakistan was first discovered creating nuclear support and manufacturing tools and equipment.. to the time it took for them test their first nuke bomb in Lop Nor, China in the early 80s... was about 3-5 years.

Iran has had WAY longer than that. They had the fuel and they have centrifuges (of stolen Pakistani design, btw). They should have at least three dozen nukes of some kind by now.

But they don't.

Conclusion... they are morons. Their country simply lacks the scientific brains and the infrastructure. If they haven't got a nuke by now, it's too late.

#48 | Posted by J_Tremain at 2019-05-11 02:09 PM | Reply

Only a moron would think they're stupid.

They have a credible deterrent, the ability to shut down Persian Gulf with pop-up anti-ship missile attacks.

They can have nuclear warhead in 6 months to a year if they really wanted to make one. If the anti-ship missiles stop being a legit threat, they will.

The olive oily NeoCon Rice (with the kinky hair), once declared Iran a threat to Poland. By what preposterous logic other than the US missiles BushI provided Iran in exchange for holding the US hostages in Iran until after the Carter-Reagan election? All forgotten as BushI is showered with praise in an enormous State funeral.

The official stories of our Oligarchy are beyond the pale. No one with two cents worth of brains can believe them. Every war since WWII was most certainly based on a lie. The same with economics. The same with religion. The same with democracy.

FDR saved the country from Capitalism once, but not without hundreds of thousands of people taking to the streets. Now we need someone to save us from global warming and nuclear annihilation. Our only chance is to defeat the Republican Party whose policies constitute an existential threat to the US and human civilization. Biden is a Republican at heart.
