Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, April 25, 2019

The North Korean government presented the United States with a bill for $2 million for the hospital care of Otto Warmbier, the American college student who was held as a prisoner by Pyongyang, and insisted the US sign a pledge to pay the bill before releasing him from their custody in 2017, according to two sources familiar with the matter. The bill was handed to Joseph Yun, the former State Department Special Representative for North Korea who traveled to Pyongyang in June 2017 to bring Warmbier home, the sources told CNN. ... Earlier this month, at an event attended by Otto Warmbier's family, Pompeo dismissed the idea of the US paying ransom for hostages.
"Please remember that any money to a terrorist or terrorist regime gives money so that they can seize more of our people," he said.

Fred Warmbier, Otto's father, told The Washington Post he had no previous knowledge of the bill, but characterized it as "ransom" for his deceased son.

In February, Trump sided with Kim after he denied knowledge of their son's maltreatment during his imprisonment during their second summit in Vietnam. "He tells me that he didn't know about it and I will take him at his word," Trump said during a news conference, also claiming Kim [Jong Un] "felt very badly.

For once, you are correct. The Trump Administration is anomalous to anything decent, moral or patriotic.

No. Fox News won't.

It won't even come up on their station. You may see it buried in a news article posted online. Maybe. But that's about it.

They never put on air that the Kushner's were using private email addresses for government work. They ignored it.

This is how they operate.

Good to see Trump doesn't show any favoritism to the North Koreans. Here in America he promises to pay his business partners, colleagues and employees for all sorts of services that he never pays for. I guess Fatboy Kim actually thought Trump pays his debts. Dontcha y'all know by now. The MO is to welch on a debt an then declare bankruptcy.

We still hear them complain about "planes full of money to iran" or whatever it is they say about that. No shame whatsoever.

It's nice to see our president showing such generosity toward our good friends in North Korea. Some would argue that agreeing to pay a dictatorship to stop the slow-motion murder of a US citizen is a bad idea, but that's because such critics are all tangled up in the old way of thinking.

Speaking of North Korea... Like our own president, the equally charismatic Kim Jong-un was deeply disappointed that the recent summit In Hanoi didn't quite pan out. So disappointed, in fact, that he allegedly has executed four of the diplomats involved. news.yahoo.com

They think giving Iran Iran's money was wrong.

It's like they have no concept of personal propery, when Muslims are involved.

Or when oil is involved. Remember when oil from Iraq was going to pay for the Iraq war?

Their sense of entitlement is astonishing.

I still find it curious that an obvious future CIA asset like Warmbier was in Pingpong, North Korea to begin with.

"The Art of the Deal" all over again.

Its part of a long running pattern with the orange sloth, leaving a casualty list along his path of taxpayers, students, contractors and Bankers, except mobsters and Russians, because he knows what they'll do.

We should all pitch in some cash so Rcade can build a "safe space" for Benny the Ruskie and his kind so they would have a place to cower so their "feels" don't get hurt when they are exposed for being the mindless parrots that they are.
