Despite President Donald Trump's vocal opposition to America's longstanding wars -- "great nations do not fight endless wars," he said in his State of the Union in February -- yesterday he vetoed bipartisan legislation that would have ended US support for the Saudi Arabia-led war in Yemen, a conflict the United Nations says has caused the world's largest humanitarian crisis.

I'm fairly certain the war in Yemen was conceived by the kings and Emirs of the Gulf States to keep the little princes occupied...get them to lay off the booze, drugs, and women.

Better to give them a fighter jet and let them drop bombs on Shia schoolchildren.

If Congress had any guts they would override his veto today. Bitch McConnell won't even consider disobeying Orange Hitler. Nancy Pelosi would though. Shows their true characters.

While I agree Trump should have ended our participation in this war, did this war start two years ago?

Who was President for the 8 years before Trump and this war was raging?

Didn't the war start in 2015?

Yes. Saudi Arabia in the lead, with coalition members including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Sudan, Senegal, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the AUE. Both Academi (blackwater) and Al Qaeda (only the pentagon denies it).

"Operation Restoring Hope". War crimes galore.

Nobody cared until Trump got elected.

Sorry Dems, you lost ALL ability to criticize Trump when it comes to war. He already tried to end a war and get our troops back. But because it was a Republican who did it, the Dems cried like babies about him doing so. Now, same issue, and since Trump isn't pulling out we have Dems crying like little babies. There is no impartiality anymore. There is no trust in what a politician says. Dems are going to have to wait for another Rep to be in office before they can pull this hypocritical crap again. For now, they are exposed as only deciding on this issue based off of hatred for Trump and not what is actually best for the people involved in the war.

I take that back, nobody cared after Trump was elected. Nobody cared until Saudi Arabia chopped up Kashoggi.

Par for the course. Bomb so many towns the cluster bombs dispensers are piled up neck high and 100 yards long. Bulldoze journalists, and you get F-16s.

Chop up one Muslim Brotherhood activist that happened to be on TV sometimes, and everybody loses their ----.
