"When we started claiming those benefits, I actually found out that my minor children, because of the way they get their benefits, actually have to file as individuals through the IRS," said Welch. Usually, Welch says they owed about $200 each. But under this year's new tax code, the family was surprised to see the total due at nearly $1,100 for each of her boys.

"To me it almost feels like a punishment. Like we honor the sacrifice your dad made, but now you owe us all this money. It just really seems confusing to me," said Welch.

Before April 15, she'll write two checks for $1,094 to send to the IRS. But she's hopeful if enough families like her's speak up, a change will be made to accommodate families who've already paid the ultimate sacrifice.

As the bloated child rapist famously said, he knew what he signed up for.

Congress could fix this and other injustices heaped upon working class Americans, just repeal the Trump tax cuts for the 1%.

Proving once again, once the soldiers can no longer fight, they and their families are useless to the GOP.

You're not confused.
You're stupid.

Funny seeing the left all of a sudden supporting military families. What will be next the police? Na, no way.

Ironic. Who supports the VA? It's Democrats.

Who went after a Gold Star family? It was Trump.

Who went after McCain as a POW? It was Trump.

Wake up, Stupid.

Trump doesn't give a ---- about the military. What has he ever done for soldiers? Tell them they're going to get a 10% raise. That's it.

You cannot create a legal Tax bill overnight or the Patriot Act or even in a week. We can be sure Republicans have been waiting in the wings with this tax bill till they got control of the White House again, just like they did with the Patriot Act. Trump is just their handy stupid front man, as BushII once was. Its absolutely certain the orange sloth had nothing to do with writing that Tax Bill, except selling it like the used car salesman that he is. He was promised something to promote it. McConnell and Ryan did this.

The Welch family's loss has been compounded by unthinking, uncaring politicians eager only to line the pockets of those who make donations to political campaigns.

Meanwhile, a certain Dotard is about to text "I like soldiers who aren't killed in action..."

Another face palm moment. And it's even worse after reading these comments from people who have no grasp on reality. There is no tax change that has been made in the last few decades that hasn't caused negative problems for some. It's impossible to do, unless you just get rid of taxes. You all are whining about an impossibility and using it as fodder for partisan hate just to spur on your own egos. You can hate whoever you like but at least do it for reasons that don't defy logic or common sense. Hate him for how he talks. Hate him for his ridiculous Twitter feed. But spreading hate for something that is inevitable regardless who is in office is just stupid. Hate to be so forward, but it is.

You people really think that just because you say something, it makes it true? Democrats dont care about the military. They are actually jealous of the respect we get.
