Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, April 12, 2019

The recent release of transcripts of testimony by key players in the Trump-Russia probe suggests that the spying, which Barr vowed to investigate, is not the only significant possible violation of investigative rules and ethics committed by agents, lawyers, managers, and officials at the FBI and the Department of Justice. A catalogue of those abuses can be found in testimony Edward William Priestap provided to Congress in a closed-door interview last summer. From the end of 2015 to the end of 2018 Bill Priestap was assistant director of the FBI's Counterintelligence Division, which meant he oversaw the FBI's global counterintelligence efforts.

In other news Comey doesn't believe its possible for the government to spy on citizens.

Why it can only be "court ordered electronic surveillance".

That was a very long winded article that said basically nothing.

Having worked in Signals Intelligence I know how our surveillance laws work.

But being from the party who has a strong desire to break the law I can under how you can convince yourself that the rest of us are intent on circumventing our Law.

I can assure you we are not like you.

I can assure you it is not easy to "spy" on Americans. Without breaking by the Law.

Now you may go back into your Fantasyland and Believe what you want to believe.

Court Ordered Surveillance is not spying.

Is now for Some.

By the way, anyone here think that Trump doesn't spy on his enemies? Without Court orders?

@#4 ... Court Ordered Surveillance is not spying. ...

That is why I think AG Barr chose to use the word "spying" instead of the more correct legal terms at his disposal.

He wanted to parrot the Republican echo chamber and please his new [mob] Boss.

Similarly, I note that AG Barr during his earlier testimony stated that he did not share the contents of the Mueller report with the White House. Yet in recent testimony, AG Barr deflected the questions with some story about landing an airplane, when all he had to do was say, "No, I've not shared the report with the White House."

Oddly, Pres Trump has recently started up his twitter attacks on Mr Mueller, after he had praised him for total exoneration.

To me it seems as if AG Barr did share the contents of the report with the White House and I now am forming the opinion that AG Barr is now Pres Trump's lawyer, not the independent lawyer representing the People of the United States. I welcome having to state I was wrong in starting to form that opinion.

Here you go Lamp ....

When Bush did it, it was spying .....

When done against Muslims in the country .... its spying....

When Obama does it its Court Ordered Surveillance ....

It's only warantless domestic spying when Republicans do it. When Obama does it, it's merely the utilization of national security letters to avoid court oversight of surreptitious domestic electronic surveillance of the communications of private U.S. citizens.

The bias of the media is comical at this point.

Your pretense of a moral system is much funnier than that.

Where did I mention the media?

I was speaking about the Attorney General of the United States. I opined that he should use the proper legal terms.

Do you think the AG should not use proper legal terms?

Who was in charge then? That is about like a camel asking what day it is on Wed. O'bummer?

Andrea doesn't understand the term "court ordered." That's just sad.
