Taxpayers are scrambling to make last-minute payments due to the Internal Revenue Service in just four days, but many of the country's largest publicly-held corporations are doing better: They've reported they owe absolutely nothing on the billions of dollars in profits they earned last year.

I remember when this tax scam passed these predictions were made and the right*rds all said we were wrong.

This was the goal all along.

The sad thing is, the next time a GOPper will propose a tax plan that "cuts taxes for the middle class and raises it on the rich" like Fat Nixon did, the dummies on the right will believe them.

How many times do you have to have the football pulled away before you learn?

same thing happened in Kansas

jiffy, "I was an economics major" J hasn't mentioned the Laffer curve since he was forced to run away from all his wrong predictions.

It's a lack of character. Todays GOP requires you to leave all that at the door

Typical irresponsible cancervative policies, creating even deeper systemic deficits.

Guess who'll be whining about deficits and debt when they're out of power next time ...

The 1% are at war against the very hands that work for them and consume their products and Trump is their conman. Its the inevitable class warfare that capitalism instills in society, the other is total alienation from a meaningful life through the commodification of each and every human being that is not in a self fulfilling job.

Because the parties are the same, right?

If the poor underedumacated over-fearmongered white Republican voter base ever catches on to what the educated moneyed white Republican donor base is doing to them and their children's children.... naw, who am I kidding, that'll never happen.

"its easier to go after those that are poorer and unable to defend themselves They are just a pack of angry cowards."

It's even easier to go after people who are a different color. These folks have been trained to ignore their own plights because they've been taught that black and brown people are the ones who need to be held responsible, not the rich.

When we see ICE seperating kids from their parents and then not even having the decency to remember where they put them or who their parents even are.....and the righties who post here still support them it tells you everything you need to know about those on the right. Dumb is bad but dumb and mean is way worse.

Sure, raise corporate tax rates and then guess who will pay them? Us, the consumer, Our tax revenues are near record highs, unfortunately government spending is even higher. That should be where the focus should be...but it won't because too many people want free stuff.

Another conservative economic ignoramus.

But I will play. So... if what you are saying is true, then we should be able to rely on the converse, right? If you LOWER taxes then the corporations should pass the savings on to consumers.

Conservatives lowered taxes on corporations. Please show me where prices have decreased across the board since this happened.

So Liberals lose their heads about businesses paying no taxes and this whole time it was 30ish? Wtf. Talk about anger over trivial crap.

It's just a shame the rich politicians keep believing that companies will use their money to provide more pay, jobs, etc. for people when I would venture to say that 90% of the population can understand the reality of the situation, which is that companies use their profits to expand, invest, etc. It rarely ever goes towards raises or staffing understaffed departments. One could argue that expansion does bring in more jobs but that also increases operating costs, so the proportions of pay and overworked staff pretty much remain the same. Until they start making tax cut decisions based on how well companies compensate their employees, this is never going to change.

I totally agree. I'm not defending corporations who don't pass along savings in their products but just pointing out a reality, if they raise taxes on them they will pass those along to consumers and if that makes the product too expensive to buy they will go out of business and put workers on the streets.

More Corporate Welfare from the Party of Personal Responsibility

Since most of them don't pay taxes anyways, why would it matter?

#10 | Posted by fishpaw

Yeah, like corps who want MIC contracts, subsidies and the benefits of government (military interventions) without paying anything into it.

So cutting pharma's taxes should have made their prices go down.

So why did they go UP?

Republicans love corporate welfare.

They love giving billions to companies.

Then cry bloody murder over poor people getting a couple bucks from the government.

They will sell their products at whatever price consumers are willing to pay, with more competition it will probably be less profitable but the amount of taxes they pay will not determine their selling price. Supply and demand will.

Why should I ask about obama about TRUMP'S tax cuts?
Should I ask obama about the skidmarks in your underwear?

You said tax cuts would result in benefits to consumers. Taxes were cut, consumers were screwed with higher prices. So you were...what's the word? Oh yeah... WRONG.

no worries bro! I got you covered.

My family saved about $6000 or so right off the bat. Looks like my three sons (who got to stay on our plan) and I made up for your financial incompetence and perhaps
then some. By the way I apologize for trying so hard to get you and your family and the entire country Better Health Care than the French get.

I can see that bothers you a lot still.
