MFA:

Russian cyber actors in the summer of 2016 conducted online research and reconnaissance to identify vulnerable databases, usernames, and passwords in webpages of a broader number of state and local websites than previously identified, bringing the number of states known to be researched by Russian actors to greater than 40. Despite gaps in our data where some states appear to be untouched by Russian activities, we have moderate confidence that Russian actors likely conducted at least reconnaissance against all US states based on the methodical nature of their research. This newly available information corroborates our previous assessment and enhances our understanding of the scale and scope of Russian operations to understand and exploit state and local election networks.

Now they are under the microscope; out comes the smoke.

DHS and the FBI are under a microscope? Nope. Barr specifically said that the whole of the FBI is not, just a few people at the top. He also praised Wray and said he looks forward to working with him on Barr's investigation:

"This is not launching an investigation of the FBI," he stressed. "Frankly, to the extent there were issues at the FBI, I do not view it as a problem of the FBI. I think it was probably a failure of the group of leaders -- the upper echelons of the FBI. I think the FBI is an outstanding organization and I am very pleased Director Chris Wray is there."

He added, "If it becomes necessary to look over former officials, I expect to rely on Chris and work with him. I have an obligation to make sure government power is not abused and I think that's one of the principal roles of the attorney general."

What amazes me is not that our election infrastructure was targeted by Russia.

What amazes me is that, at this point in the timeline, this is still something that we are debating.

#4 Yeah, and what is even more amazing is that not that much is being done, relatively speaking, to make sure that the 2020 elections are secure. Instead we have a president who still says he believes Putin's denials over our his own intelligent communities' assessments.

Only Trump Whores contest it. Trump himself doesn't accept that any of this happened at all. Whores always fall in line behind their Pimp.

Forgot the wall street journal's story on it too. DHS is the hacker. No wonder the FBI knew.

What does this even mean? Names and addresses of registered voters.

As Obama and others have made very clear there is no connection between polling places and the internet. No clearcut impact on the way anyone voted.

That said, sanctions remain the most rational response, which Obama invoked and Trump resisted, until he couldn't take the push back.

At the same time it must be recognized we interfere in far more foreign elections than any other country. We need to stop those practices we renounce.

Comrade Petros = Dishonest moron. A fool. A lackey.

"At the same time it must be recognized we interfere in far more foreign elections than any other country. We need to stop those practices we renounce."

I think we have. We've entered the era when our President gets to just appoint Interim Presidents in other nations....like Venezuela. No election, of any kind, necessary.

And yet,

"All electronic vote tallies can be hacked through the internet, even if the voting machines themselves are not directly connected to it."

When the President is very well known as a liar everything that is said by any agency can be considered tripe. He, himself, prefers the word of Vladimir Putin over our own intelligence agencies and you want us to believe claims made by the Georgia government after their AG just stole an election in the most obvious manner ever seen before?
Sorry, none of your links convince me that anyone did anything at all Petrous.

And still his cult supports him.

You've spent the last 10...18...24...28 years believing that everything said by the executive branch is tripe?

The more I thought about that sentence the father back I had to make the time. Everyone knows Trump is a liar, Obama was the first President to make the lie of the year, Bush 2 lied us into a war, Clinton was impeached for lying under oath, Bush did the opposite of 'no new taxes'. Regan... did he lie or was he just mentally impaired already? Carter, at least lying wasn't amongst his list of failures.

It all makes so much sense now: Danni believes so much that isn't so because she thinks that the workers of the executive branch lie like their bosses do. For decades.

Russia wanted Trump to win because Hillary pushed back, Your hero Orange Adolf rolls over and assumes the position for Daddy Vlad.

Even a moron can see it, but then again I'm sure it's hard to see anything with your head so far up Trump's @$$!

"Danni believes so much that isn't so because she thinks that the workers of the executive branch lie like their bosses do. For decades."

Perhaps because the spokeswoman for the President uses terms such as "alternative facts" when trying to forward another lie. There is no valid defense for the Trump administration nor for Trump himself. He has, by far, told more lies than any preveious President. Kelly Anne Conway's own husband speaks about it regularly. What alternative universe do you live in Agigdore?
Are you crazy or stupid? Pick one or both.

Sanctions stupid. Maddow is probably over your head, too smart. You're more of a Hannity person.
You know, news discussion for dummies.
