Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, March 21, 2019

Forbes: Donald Trump has charged his own reelection campaign $1.3 million for rent, food, lodging and other expenses since taking office, according to a Forbes analysis of the latest campaign filings. And although outsiders have contributed more than $50 million to the campaign, the billionaire president hasn't handed over any of his own cash. The net effect: $1.3 million of donor money has turned into $1.3 million of Trump money.

I've been saying it for a while now.

It's unlikely that Mueller or charges of collusion are going to bring Trump down.

What will most likely be his downfall is grift. He's done it his whole life and he's not about to stop now. He's his own worst enemy.

Nothing is going to stop him. There will be no downfall. He will be reelected and go on to serve another 4 years.

The reason? People like to brag about voting a straight Republican ticket.

If children in cages crying for their mothers didn't bring him down, a little bit of grifting won't. Neither will the Mueller Report no matter how bad it is.

It's going to take a sea change in the Senate (2020) to get rid of this malignancy (if he makes it to a second term.) If not, then it open season for the SDNY and fun times for the denizens of the Retort.

Obama Campaign Fined Big for Hiding Donors, Keeping Illegal Donations

FACT CHECK: Air Force One, Who Pays?

That's the question a lot of people were asking after Hillary Clinton hitched a ride to Charlotte, N.C., this week with President Obama for their first joint campaign appearance.

While it's unusual for an incumbent president to campaign actively for his would-be successor, the question itself is not new. It's been raised before whenever presidents travel for their own re-election campaign or on behalf of House and Senate candidates and campaign committees.

OMG!! Cause that's just like personally pocketing millions in campaign contributions, making millions from your properties in violation of the emoluments clause, or spending millions a weekend to go play golf in Florida (and charging taxpayers for gold cart rentals), right?

You're laughable!

We still don't know the extent of inaugural committee cash Trump pocketed. We'll see when THAT investigation (how many does that make?!!) is complete. Bet it was in the millions based on preliminary reports about unaccounted for millions and millions.

Update your talking point, in 2020 only seven states will allow straight ticket voting. www.ncsl.org

For what the Secret Service had the shell-out for them, they might as well have been 'gold carts'.

@Mackris
So you're grouping Trump right in there with the Obamas? Gotcha. Cause we all know how you feel about them but Trump can Grier "because Obama"

You're a shameless winch.

"Update your talking point, in 2020 only seven states will allow straight ticket voting. www.ncsl.org"

Only 7 states allow you to make only one check and thereby choose every candidate from one party but all states allow you to manually do the same thing, it just takes a few minutes longer. I know, because I vote a straight Democratic ticket every election and have done so my entire life and will continue to do so for the rest of my life and, honestly, I don't give a crap what anyone thinks about that. I can honestly say, had my side won all of those elections this country would be far better off. Republicans simply can't claim the same thing honestly. No Democrat ever took us to war for political purposes, virtually every Republican President after Eisenhower has though. Every single one! They have all committed treason before and during their Presidencies. I am a Democrat and proud of it, I would be ashamed to be a Republican.

His corruption and grifting were well known before he was nominated to the head of the Republican party, way before he was elected. Republicans didn't care about it then, why would they care about it now. It is not going to be what brings him down.

The only way he "falls" is if Republicans turn on him. But for them to do that there has to be something "new". Just rehashing the corruption and immorality that they already knew before they made him their leader is not going to change anything. The only way it happens is if we find something new that "shocks the conscience" such that it is too much even for Republicans.

I am not holding out hope. As far as I can tell, Republicans only have a "conscience" as it relates to their own, or their "tribe's" (generally white people or white male), well-being. They can't empathize (or just choose not to) with people who are different than them. So ripping brown kids from their parents and putting them in cages has no effect. Violating the constitution is fine as long as it is violations targeted at minorities (mexicans or muslims). But if they feel that Trump has betrayed the country in a way such that their well-being will be affected, like by becoming compromised by a foreign government, then maybe, just maybe, they will decide that he should not be in power.

But I am not holding my breath.

108 million dollars was raised for trump inauguration...26 million dollars was paid to settle the trump university scam

who wants to bet that part of that 100 million didn't pay part/all of that fine?

So your excuse for Humpy's corruption is that everyone else had been doing it so why are we suddenly holding this President accountable?

It is Congress's JOB to hold the President accountable for EVERYTHING HE SAYS AND DOES in the name of America.

That is some very weak sauce bro. You must be running out of good Fixed News talking points that give you cover and justifications for being such a tool and voting for the Orange Clown of Hate. 🤡

#19 HUMMER, where does it stop? It has been made abundantly clear no act of gun violence will be enough to outlaw assault rifles and magazine-fed handguns in Amerikkka. I am coming to believe NO act, no matter how egregiously fXXXed-up, will turn true believers away from Trump.
