The worst agricultural downturn since the 1980s is taking its toll on the emotional well-being of American farmers. In Kentucky, Montana and Florida, operators at Farm Aid's hotline have seen a doubling of contacts for everything from financial counseling to crisis assistance.

While it is sad, I have to ask how many of them voted for this mess?

That would be most of them did

Maybe they shouldn't have voted for a real estate guy who is planning to bankrupt them so his mobster cronies from Russia and China can buy up their productive American land for pennies on the dollar.

it's something peculiar to farm life. i'm not offering a pass on their politics, and yes they might make decisions that might prove to have been wrong, but when you lose the farm, it's not just a job or a business that you've lost. these aren't corporate farm business CEO's having breakdowns and committing suicide..it's family farmers who lose the family heritage.
this fatal grief is common under conditions like these in lots of agrarian areas.
India has been struggling with farmer's suicides for about the last 10 years

Who knew economics would be so complicated? When you elect a grifter who thinks he knows everything but really knows nothing this is the unfortunate result that we expect.

Well its obvious the Prozac and Xanax just isn't working any more... much the same is it stops working for veterans right before they blow their brains out.
But lets be honest here... all they need to do is to buck up... go get a job... any job to tide them over through these tough times... hell... there's jobs all over the place right?
Just ask the pig brains. Besides...only an idiot would want to be a farmer forever... its so dirty... all you do is work with dirt and poo... and all those disgusting filthy animals... who wants to do that generation after generation... leave that to the Mexicans.
They need to attend an investment seminar... stop buying and that seed and farm equipment... roll over some of that cash they don't have into something larger and more significant than a life's work.

This is not news when anywhere you look a good reporter these days can find "news"

That statement is damning to the journalism class. If it's not obvious yet, they are going to have to be self-regulating. They were at one time.

Well, they voted for this. They got exactly what they were asking for. I find it hard to drag up sympathy when folks who voted against Trump are also suffering.

What the hell are you babbling about?

Literally this is Wisconsin government saying they are seeing spikes. Why are you blaming a reporter for reporting it? Why are you pretending its fake?

The most patriotic thing you can do is never vote and never procreate. Abstain from both for the future of your country.
