Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

It started in 1986 with a puff of Myakka Gold marijuana on Bradenton Beach. Cathy Jordan was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease and given no more than five years to live. She came down to Florida from her home in Delaware with the goal to end her own life. She wanted to see the beach and smoke some pot before she took a handful of muscle relaxers that would numb her pain once and for all. But long before [Gov. Ron] DeSantis took up repealing a ban on smokable pot, Bob Jordan was growing and perfecting the strains that would work best for his wife of 37 years. It's a daily routine that's lasted as long as Jordan can remember. After he gets Cathy out of bed, cleaned up and dressed in the morning, she sits at the breakfast table with a cup of coffee and two marijuana cigarettes.

A cousin in Florida who's suffered from Chron's Disease (as well as combat related PTSD) for many years, got his medical marijuana card awhile back. When I saw him last week, he had green vape pens that are delivered to his door from a dispensary as well as high grade smokable pot that came in small tubs of about 1/8th an OZ each.

Medical marijuana has improved his condition tremendously.

Shoutout to Governor DeSantis (R). Glad to read that your family member is doing better, AU.

#1 Happy it has worked out for your friend. There is an elderly man at my condo complex that has been buying it illegally for years to smoke it to ease his PTS and R.A.

Cool to see my local state rep get some positive press in this article as well, he has been at the forefront of (R)s championing this cause. It is unfortunate that he is too moderate for the national party, but is a treasure in local politics at the state level. I fear that he will be facing a tough decision soon as he will be term limited.

Congrats to Florida.
May the rest of the states realise that it's a gift.. it's not a curse.

I agree... and I think we should start providing junkies with opiates... but only if they work for it. We need to take it out of the cartels hands.

Liberals were cool with weed in the 70s. So it only takes repubs 40 years to do the right thing. That means they'll start caring about the environment in about 2030.
