"I think someone should run just because Republicans ought to be given a choice," Bush said. "It's hard to beat a sitting president, but to have a conversation about what it is to be a conservative, I think it's important."

Great, now just find one who wants a beatdown by Trump like he did to so many of them in 2016 : )

The RNC is not going to let that happen. Fat Nixon has too many file folders from Vlad on each and every one of them.

The Republican good-old-boy club suffers from TDS as much as democrats. He stole "their" party from the neocon, open borders, globalist establishment and they can't stand it. Go back to bed, Jeb.

You do notice that Jeb is not indicating that he would go up against Trump again.

Before the 2020 election they will hold Republican Presidential debates where Pesident Donald Trump will debate candidate Donald Trump.

Jeb needs to realize the Republican Party he grew up a part of, no longer exists.

It ended in 2008.

The morons, mouth breathers, and evangelicals are running the party.

And they're all elated Donnie is here, the second coming of Jesus apparently, to help white Americans make America white again.

- neocon, open borders, globalist establishment

So funny.... Trump is the quintessential globalist, whose only concern for trade deals was
that there be more profit in them for globalists like himself.

And some really dumb suckers are still buying into his con.

The Republican Who Wants to Defeat ‘Malignant Narcissist' Trump

In our democracy's only-too-real present-day crisis, President Trump is refashioning Republicanism into a cult of personality. And Weld, for one, is having none of it, insisting the Party of Lincoln can't go without a fight.

"I am going to rage against the dying of the light," he tells Rolling Stone. Weld says he's trying to uphold the principles of integrity, decency and fairness that first attracted him to public service in the GOP of the 1960s.

In prosecuting the case against Trump, Weld, 73, has relevant experience. He was counsel to the House Judiciary Committee during Watergate, and he later ran the criminal division at the Department of Justice under Ronald Reagan.

No stranger to national campaigns, he stood as the vice presidential candidate on the Libertarian Party ticket headed by fellow-former GOP governor Gary Johnson in 2016. The pair won more than 4.5 million votes, a record for that party.

Trump's Campaign is currently stacking the rules of their Primary so that no other candidate will have any chance at all, so good luck with that, Bill.

"Romney?" LOL ~ Don't even think it!

Romney is another gaff prone, narcissistic, mean-spirited, elitist with a low opinion of 47% of the voting population who have spent a lifetime earning their place in America's social contract.

Romney at a fundraiser ~

" All right, there are 47% who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to healthcare, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what ... These are people who pay no income tax ...

"[M]y job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the American social contract. Romney proposes here that the senior citizen living on a fixed income believes government has a responsibility to care for them – rather than that government has a responsibility to fulfil its obligation to them after they spent years paying into social security and Medicare. He is saying that workers laid-off from their jobs, who rely on food stamps to feed their children and unemployment insurance to pay their rent, believe government owes them food and shelter, rather than getting some support at a time of dire financial need which their payroll taxes had paid for when they were in work.

I would never consider anybody whose wife has already been dubbed "Queen Ann" by the court of public opinion. Too much elitism connected to that, not to mention her five sons who had do-nothing jobs in Romney's last bid for the highest job in the land. Romney is too "Trumpish" who has earned his fortune by hard core destruction of lives, families and sometimes whole towns.

Yes, I'm talking about Romney's total lack of empathy, as in sociopathic, when he was the CEO Bain Capital

Sorry if I snicker at this... but honestly I don't think the governor of the state that came under close and questionable scrutiny due to his actions concerning the election of his brother to the Ofal Office... who I have to add... ultimately presided over one of the largest failures... on oh so many many maaaaannnnnny levels in US history...

...to have a conversation about what it is to be a conservative,...

Conservatism was a ruse invented by the rich to convince the religious right and the socially intolerant to vote for policies that further enriched the rich. Now that Trump is in office, it is apparent that conservative principles have given way to the cult of Trump.

We still don't know how much income tax Trump pays. I hope more states move to require the release of income taxes filed for the last 10 years as a prerequisite for getting on the ballot.

Jeb would like to, but he knows Trump already ground him to a pulp once. First one to do this has the upper hand. Then if the insults are returned Trump supporters act outraged that people are not more civilized. After all don't we all want to move the country forward for a better life. This creates a false mythology of good and bad and segregates people into those who accept the right wing BS and those who don't.

Saying, well he did it too, never has the same impact. The first one to play dirty almost always has the upper hand. It does occasionally backfire though, as Jussie Smollett recently discovered.

Jeb has absolutely no credibility on sooooooooo many levels... as much as I would love to give him credit on standing up and doing this... but frankly he has nothing to lose...his family's name is caca for a few generations.

I will be impressed when one of the clown brigade who actually is functioning at risk grows a pair and says this... or something comparable

Jeb has a lot of experience rigging Florida elections.

The era of the Bush Family Dynasty is over. George W. screwed it up for every other Bush who thought they were in the pipeline . . . and Dick Cheney helped.

Looking back, the Bush Unitary Executive was the dream of pikers. Trump has his eye on a Dictatorship and McConnell is helping.

Go away Jeb. Meh, nevermind, stay. A guarantee that Florida goes to Trump by a landslide. We will always remember how you ruined our children purchasing FCAT from that family member with the felonies. That day teachers had to quit teaching our children and began teaching that test.

"the wacko far left is running the dem party"

Ah yes, the ghostly Deep State!

It's 2017 and enter Donald Trump, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Steve Bannon, Breitpart, Erik Jones and THE DEEP STATE! ~ a useful boogyman that allows Trump to merge several disparate political targets, real, exaggerated and imagined, into a single villain he can use to rally his supporters.

It's true that there is a certain faction of the U.S. government, usually at the Pentagon, who are always on guard against unrealistic demands coming from a civilian Commander-in-Chief AND who aren't adverse to using their powerful influence to secretly (outside of public view) sway certain rogue directives away from destructive consequences. However, Trump and Company have expanded and weaponized this subliminal system of checks and balances to include every branch of government he needs to minimize, including the CIA/Intel, AND the constitutional Freedom of the Press into "they're out to get me." The purpose, of course, is to maximize his own power as theirs get weaker.
