The city has been struggling with problems with its water for months, which has intensified recently after a six-day blackout left some areas completely without any water all, according to reports. But when it came back on Wednesday, some people couldn't drink what was flowing from the taps.

When oil was worth more, Venezuela should have bought bigger generators that run on diesel or gas !
Oh wait, they were too big to fail.

Republicans are so partisan and dishonest that they will tell you that Medicare for all is Socialism and that the means of production are about to be taken over by the government when nothing could be farther from the truth...because when you don't have facts to back up your opinion just lie you asses off!

The United States should offer to go into Venezuela and get the power back on and get the water flowing clean again without demanding anyone resign. You can pretend we have no responsibility for the suffering in Venezuela but we do and we all know it. Our President should never have pretended to be in charge down there and appointed their Speaker of the House as Interim President, he had no legitimate right to do so and it has wreaked havoc on the Venezuelan people.
When Chavez was in charge down there he sent heating oil to poor folks in the United States many years, we need to repay his generosity today.

Then perhaps Dems should quit using the word 'Socialism'. It has a pretty specific definition and it's not what we see in Canada.

"Then perhaps Dems should quit using the word 'Socialism'. It has a pretty specific definition and it's not what we see in Canada."

Democrats? Republicans use the term far, far more than Democrats. Democrats need to start using the word "Fascist" when talking about Republicans because it accurately describes the politics of the GOP under Trump.

"--Our President should never have pretended to be in charge down there and appointed their Speaker of the House as Interim President,
All you have are lies."

He did exactly what I said he did, it isn't even a controversy. It has been reported in every news outlet in the country.

"you'd think...but then we won't even take care of our own."

Medicare for all is Socialism

Its not, but it would quickly need to turn into it to be even mildly successful.

You are going about it half baked, you need to nationalize the healthcare industry, then it would make sense, but Democrats don't want to make doctors feel the costs, only the patients.

So what? It's only a word. We would still have private enterprise as the source of production of goods and services for everything else. Healthcare should not be a profit center for insurance companies. They add cost but no healthcare service.

"They add cost but no healthcare service"

Correct, but they hold capacitance to pay for extremely costly accidents.

They monitor healthcare services.

Ever hear of stories where there is one price for healthcare, if it's out of pocket and another if you have insurance?

The healthcare industry tries to screw the insurance companies all the time with phony billing. But when personal they know it's fraud.

In 2003, when the electricity failed in the massive northeast corridor blackout including New York and surrounding areas and Ontario, did anyone think to blame President Bush? Of course not, because that makes no sense. But the fact that Pence, Pompeo and Bolton immediately began blaming the Maduro administration suggests these people have the motives to stage a coup in Venezuela by any means necessary and now that may even include contaminating the water supply with oil. The war criminals running our country right now should be locked up and shipped to the Hague to answer for their crimes.

From Zappa's "Only In It For The Money" album, a fine screed mocking the middle class and hippies.

Seems to me Zappa was mocking American conspicuous consumption, hardly a hippie trademark. Hippies formed his largest market, although he seems to have also developed a following in some former Warsaw countries. Its an odd combination between a long haired chain smoking workaholic who condemned most drugs but couldn't kick the nicotine that probably sent him to an early grave.

Here's a real mockery of psychedelic rock's finest:
