Members of the right-wing grift industry really want to scare you about the "socialist nightmare" that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) purportedly hopes to impose on the country -- and they need your money to stop it from happening.

She is a gift that keeps on giving. She shows her ignorance every day. Even in reading prepared statements, she sounds ridiculous with her valley-girl voice inflection. I can't wait for someone to ask her where she gets her news or the last book she read that didn't involve coloring.

She is a gift to the right because she is the logical end result for liberal policies - she is the boogieman that the GOP can points to and say "Look, this is your future".

Whether it is regulating cow farts because she doesn't want Americans eating 3 hamburgers a day (I don't think the Left accused Trump of that...yet), not understanding tax incentives so she can't reallocate a non-existent $3B, chasing away 25K+ high paying jobs in her district, or publishing the GND which is little more than an 8th grade book report summarizing bad ideas of the far-Left, she personifies hubris, ignorance, and entitlement.

But, and this is important - the Left has no way of primarying her. She will win against any person they put up against her. Their only hope is to eliminate her district with the new census. This will be a fight to remember. While her politics are repulsive to middle America - her entertainment value is on par with the Kardashians - which have just as much intelligence and political insight.

@#1 ... because she is the logical end result for liberal policies ...

There's the fundamental flaw in your comment...

Nothing in politics is logical nowadays.

'Tis a shame you made such an egregious error, there were a couple of things in your comment I agreed with.

Like the Republicans elevating her to the near-continual spotlight because of her more extreme views, in order to scare independents away from voting Democratic.

But politics is not logical nowadays, it is emotional. Which is why Republicans can get away with the aforementioned tactic.

Did you even read the article before you post it here?

The article isnt really about anything to do with what Cortez have said or done at all its about right wing scam artists.

You basically lied through your fake headline what the article is about shame on you.

Here is about

"Rembers of the right-wing grift industry really want to scare you about the "socialist nightmare" that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) purportedly hopes to impose on the country -- and they need your money to stop it from happening.

The conservative movement has been infected with scams and hucksters for years. Some of the most fertile ground for grifters has been right-wing email lists, which contain messages with warnings to conservatives about purported threats to their health, safety, and financial security. In prior years, missives about the supposed damage that then-President Barack Obama would inflict on the nation were commonplace.

With Obama out of office, many right-wing grifters are now using Ocasio-Cortez and her policy proposals -- especially the Green New Deal -- as a scary specter of the future. Those grifters include a disgraced financial firm advertising with an anti-Semitic publication, the National Rifle Association, Jack Abramoff, and James O'Keefe. Here's a look at some of their pitches."

You might as well used Obama's name then Cortez, everytime Obama says anything the right wing loves it might as well been your headline

A good example of why we love AOC and want her front and center was her questioning of the Wells Fargo CEO. The left should embrace such a learned representative who is the lefts 'defender of the people'. I am surprised that no one here started a thread about her great showing.

Of course, some of us do wonder if Boston University hands out degrees like/as participation trophies.

Most private universities do, sadly. Attending Boston University is basically the consolation prize for kids not smart enough to attend Harvard or MIT but were smart enough to avoid Northeastern.

Speaking of which - I have zero sympathy for people that choose to attend a private university in an extremely expensive city and then complain about student loan debt. Currently BU estimates it costs $72K/year to attend. Even with a scholarship for being Hispanix, it is extremely expensive especially with a degree in liberal arts.

The total cost of a Boston University education includes direct expenses for which you are billed, such as tuition, fees, and charges for room and board, as well as estimates and allowances for indirect expenses such as books, supplies, transportation, and incidental and personal expenses.

Fear is what the right thrives on.

Fear and stupidity is their base.

If they can get the terminally stupid to fear someone to the point that they cannot see what is really going on, well then we end up with a Russian puppet passing tax cuts that punish the middle class for the benefit of the 1%.

Only the blue wave last November prevented the policy of "We have to gut social security to save it" from passing. Bitch McConnell tried back in Feb as a final "well I tried" to the ---- Brothers. Given Bitch is polling at Fat Nixon territory in KY my guess is until he is indicted in the Mueller report he will try to retire to a fat lobbying gig for the ----'s.

@#26 ... I think my politics represent middle America. ...

But does Middle America think your politics represent them? That's the more important aspect to look at.

You cannot unilaterally declare your politics represent a large swath of the Country.

All you can unilaterally declare is that your politics represent you.

She got that crash course with all the other freshmen at orientation. Congress brought in lobbyists and bankers to tell them "how things work" She was the one who tweeted asking why these people were telling them how things work and why there weren't any representatives of the common man telling them how things work.

How come no one from your party ever bothered to ask that question?

The right is really just afraid of stong, confident women. And conservatives are willing to give money in droves to fraudsters so that they feel like they are doing SOMETHING to protect themselves from the bogeywomen (hell, they elected Trump to lead their party over it... and he's the biggest fraudster of all).

Can you name ANY male Democrats that Republicans hate more than Pelosi, Clinton (Hillary), Feinstein, or AOC?

Sexism and racism is what drives the Republican base.

The "right wing fear machine" is going to be fed no matter what. If they didn't have AOC they would find someone else. Or just make something up (they make up half of what they say anyways).

Adjusting ourselves to try to be less palatable to their lies just allows them to set the terms of the debate.

Basically their base is going to be manipulated by their propaganda regardless. Democrats should just ignore it and be proud of who we are. You get the best solutions by starting with a diverse set of ideas. Don't let the Republicans make us sabotage ourselves.

Precisely. And the MSM will then give equal airtime to "both sides" of the story to avoid being accused of bias.
