Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

John Avlon: There's an old saying in American politics that a Democratic crook is just as bad as a Republican crook. The point, of course, is that we should hold people to the same standard, regardless of political party. It's a good, solid principle. And it seems almost impossibly quaint, because the search for the truth in the Trump investigations is breaking down along partisan lines.

"Republican" has become synonymous with "hypocrite". Sigh.

Republicans are ruthless, Democrats compliant. I would use stronger words if Rcade would let me. Democrats and Republicans have at least one formal written power sharing agreement, which succeeded in pushing the League of Women Voters out of control of our our national debates. Through that document topics of discussion are carefully controlled resulting in fewer voters at the voting booths. By violating that contract Sanders awakens the dead.

Uhhh... Republicans keep talking about that, but cannot seem to ever find ANY evidence of it happening (except for a few people who are confused and think they are allowed to).

Trump's "commission" found nothing.

Texas totally embarrassed themselves over their "voter fraud" claims.

If I saw any evidence that illegals voting was happening on any sort of scale, then I might get behind doing something about it. But either it is NOT happening (likely), or Republicans are just too incompetent to actually prove it (also a possibility, seeing their current attempts at governance).

Seems like you just enjoy guzzling down that Republican propaganda.

BTW... the only election fraud I have heard about recently was committed by REPUBLICANS (in North Carolina) and somehow Democrats WERE able to show evidence of it occurring.

So, which one do you want to claim? Are you stupid enough to believe Republican lies, or are Republicans just too incompetent to find any evidence of wrongdoing?

Trump was right when he declared that he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and not lose a vote. He WAS talking about his base, which now includes the GOP members of the House and Senate...

Republicans stand for nothing except putting more money into the pockets of people that have most of it already. They will toss conservative principles like respect for law and order, family values, debt control, free trade, balanced budgets, etc. under the bus in a heart beat. Those conservative principles are just talking points to get people to vote against their own financial interests.

They don't necessarily vote against their own financial interests - a rising 'financial tide' lifts most boats - but the rest of your post... 3 thumbs up!!!

How would an illegal get on the voting roles?

Hint - fox news lies to you about dems.

Funny, the rich's tide has been rising for decades and everyone else's boats have been sinking. WHen is this trickling down supposed to start happening if it hasn't happened by now?

I'm not a fan of Snopes but I wanted to choose a source you wouldn't find to be objectionable.

What's True
California has implemented a law providing for the automatic voter registration of motorists who obtain or renew driver's licenses, and critics contend that the law will make it easier for non-citizens to unlawfully vote.
What's False
California has not implemented a law authorizing non-citizens to vote in federal elections.

www.snopes.com

Granted, that's not at the Federal level, but still...

"critics contend that the law will make it easier for non-citizens to unlawfully vote."

If the GOP actually cared they could implement voter ID at the Federal ID.
You're getting played.

In the eyes of your typical alt-right (R)tard getting a BJ is worse than acts of treason.

Of course their hypocrisy is soaring. Both parties tend to evolve together. With the Liberals setting the bar of how widespread and absurd hypocrisy can be, it is inevitable that the GOP follows suit. Just like top Dems are now flaunting their wealth and even getting caught doing things like just happened to Kraft. Both parties are full the politicians who are just as much the same as they are different. Anyone objective can see this...and can see how dumb an article like this is and that it actually portrays the hypocrisy of Liberal journalists.

False.

"The California New Motor Voter Act, AB 1461, would register every eligible citizen who goes to a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office to get a driver's license or renew one."
www.sos.ca.gov

"the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will electronically transmit information about DMV customers who are eligible to vote to the California Secretary of State, which will add eligible customers to the voter rolls unless they opt out."
www.ppic.org

Snopes is trash.

"CRITICS CONTEND" a lot of things since fox news was created. Most of it not true. CRITICS CONTENTED that obama wasnt an american citizen. CRITICS CONTEND that democrats want to take everyone's guns. CRITICS CONTEND that democrats want venezuelan style socialism.

"everyone else's boats" have NOT been sinking, they just haven't risen as fast and/or as far as "the rich" i.e., those who use / risk their or others' capital to invest in market or creating or expanding businesses or compounding at higher interest rates - in other words risking capital to generate much higher rates of return on already higher capital, while "everyone else" is spending more of their time and income (on percentage basis) on more mundane "everyday" things such as food, shelter, transportation, insurance, entertainment etc.

Money begets money and often with it, power; power begets power and often with it, money. It's always been thus, and will continue to be in free, "capital"-ist societies.

Equality of opportunity, such as it is, doesn't mean equality of outcome.
