Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, March 09, 2019

While at a Missouri hospital, a man with stage 4 pancreatic cancer was visited by multiple officers who reportedly searched his possessions for marijuana. Nolan Sousley posted a video of the encounter on Facebook on March 6. It began with officers, whom Sousley later identified as being from the Bolivar, Missouri, police department, in his room at a hospital in Bolivar. While one officer looked through multiple bags and what appeared to be a jacket, another officer stood to the side and explained the situation.

Impossible for them to smell. The oil smells like bud. If it sweats or leaks, you smell weed.

Horrible way to treat someone dying of terminal pancreatic cancer.

This is why I don't like the pigs.

Too bad he didn't have a gun, I'm sure that would have prevented the police from doing this!

You'd think they have better things to do with their time like catching real criminals instead of fishing/phishing for a crime. In my state of Washington, this wouldn't have happened.

"You'd think they have better things to do"

After only a few decades of thinking the same, I realized I was wrong.

This is what the police are suppoyto do. They live to crack skulls and ruin lives.

I feel guilty sitting here smoking legal Oregon weed while fellow Americans.. people much sicker than me... have to deal with this kinda of crap over a plant that has never killed anybody

The officer said that the department had received a call from someone who said they smelled weed coming from Sousley's room.

To me, the worst part of the modern Police State. Any anonymous call can prompt a suspension of your 4th amendment rights.

I will never forgive the "medical" community for their blanket stance and behavior. They can read statistics. They should be able to make rational changes and direct the government to correct it's scheduling.

They deserve to experience the full spectrum of disaster they have wrought, particularly those who perform invasive surgeries rather than CBD therapy when rational.

Even that "doctor" tries to get him to turn off his camera. Scum, the lot. Police and doctors - if ever there were a team-up made for cruelty.

He should have kept the camera going as he did, but talked a little less.
The cops absolutely HATE being filmed as it puts them on the defensive and takes a lot of their perceived power away as they have to really watch their behavior. Always let them know you are live streaming even if you are not, that virtually paralyzes most violent action they may otherwise take.

What part of the hospital allowing a search on their premises suspended his 4th amendment rights?

"It is also our policy to call appropriate law enforcement any time hospital personnel see or reasonably suspect illegal drug use in patient rooms or otherwise on campus"

Or was it when he consented to the search? Was that what suspended his 4th amendment rights?

"In the end, he allowed one officer to look through the bag..."

"Or was it when he consented to the search? Was that what suspended his 4th amendment rights?"

That will do.

Police should not even be asking people to give up their rights in the first place.

But I guess you're okay with the police asking if we would like to waive the right to life, and then killing anyone who says yes.

It makes a mockery of rights to ask people to give them away.

They're not inalienable if they can cease to exist on a whim.

They ask if they can search your stuff. You tell them no. They search it anyway because they have "probable cause."

Probable cause in this case means someone said something.

Check out "You Have The Right To Remain Innocent"
Exert your right to remain silent AND your right to legal counsel. And then shut up.

Then stop smoking weed so you don't have to worry.

Missouri legalized medical marijuana last year. I know this because I'm moving to the St Louis area this week and I was doing a little checkin'. 😂

I hate to come to grips with it but law enforcement now has more schitt bags than decent people.

Legalazation in Oregon has brought in 82$ million dollars in weed taxes in just 2018

Nationwide legal weed has created 200000 jobs.. also taxed

The Cannabis I bye now is all tested for nasty chemicals ... where as before you got what you got.

Still waiting for the down side of legalization.. but crime never surged... just freedom reinstating itself with a little help from the people

News Flash!! Not sure what backward State Necrosis YOU live in but...

We are NOT all harassed by the local Polizi for our choice of herbs or medicines on the way out.

I live in California. You can buy it at a local dispensary. In fact, if someone steals your legal medicine here and the cops recover it they will give it back to you with a smile.

Nothing wrong with Enjoying your Exit.
