"From this day forward, a new vision will govern our land.

From this moment on, it's going to be America First.

Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs, will be made to benefit American workers and American families.

We must protect our borders from the ravages of other countries making our products, stealing our companies, and destroying our jobs. Protection will lead to great prosperity and strength.

I will fight for you with every breath in my body – and I will never, ever let you down."

Be careful about what you ask for republicans because you just might get it. Most economists believe in the long run a tax on profits has the same impact on prices as a a value added tax(VAT). Hence if you reduce corporate taxes it is the same as reducing the VAT, which of course is a republicans dream tax because it is regressive. If they keep corporate taxes low it is going to create more pressure to raise taxes on the wealthy, which is exactly what republicans don't want.

#2, nixon, very astutely, points out the cynical manner in which Trump plays his followers for fools. Trump's current focus on the wall serves a personal political agenda while completely missing the underlying causes driving immigration, guaranteeing it will be another complete waste of time and money.
