WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. -- One Arkansas lawmaker wants to get more students reading by putting money on the line -- specifically, their lunch money. Rep. Alan Clark (R-Lonsdale) proposed a bill that would cut lunch funding in schools that struggle with reading, and he is working to get others to support the idea. Clark's proposed bill, if passed, would reduce a district's "national school lunch funding" if they're struggling in the reading department over a period of time. "I don't understand, and hopefully that bill won't get passed in Arkansas," said Laquita Chalmers, a parent in West Memphis.

Proving once again that some people are only concerned about who they hurt.

So you think Republicans represent the "Christian" party?

You do realize you are insulting the millions of Christians who support Democrats?

For years I functioned within a conservative Christian church as a Democrat and found it unnerving that I was not entirely accepted as a Christian by some people I knew. I even heard "Democrats can't be Christian".

Now you're buying into it.

If its not bad enough many conservatives still believe Democrats are evil, I continue to see comments such as yours from the other side of the isle who still perpetuate the belief that the "official" Christian party is the Republican Party.

As some might be aware, I have since changed my political views to support conservatives but not because I think Democrats are evil.

They're just wrong.
