Although there are now twelve (twelve!) already-declared candidates opposing Donald Trump in 2020, the nation's gambling gurus are still heavily favoring him for the win in the next election.

In fact, as the Washington Examiner reported Wednesday, the entry of Bernie Sanders as #12 in the race didn't even budge the numbers.

This is all before the Democrats go to war against themselves in the upcoming primaries, as they try to outdo each other with platitudes and promises of giveaways.

WAY too early for this. If the economy holds he'll be difficult to beat. Also, the Mueller report is a HUGE X-factor.

You don't think the bookies haven't already figured that in? "Mueller" is going to wind up being in the dictionary as a slang word for shattered desperate hopes. Used in a sentence: We played all those Publishers' Clearing House contests, and nothing! We were totally Muellered!

Great thing about Bookies ... they don't care politically who wins ... they have skin in the game, and don't want to lose money.

Fake polls ... the producers want someone to win, and probably will benefit from it.

If the economy holds he'll be difficult to beat.

Liberals keep doing what they are doing and he's going to win by default.

My prediction is that the Dems are so bad they turn off the middle, who is also disgusted by Trump so they either stay home or vote third party.

And in that situation we'll have the first two term POTUS who never won a plurality of votes but because of the EC was elected to office.

In other words, a very clear picture that we've completed the circles around the drain and are sliding down it.

Its possible ... in that case JeffJ's prediction of the economy being important comes in to play.

In other words, a very clear picture that we've completed the circles around the drain and are sliding down it.

The clear picture for me was when Gore called Bush back to say he didn't concede ....

Since then the rage in the machine has been non-stop.

I wanted to reflect on Nixon's conceding and found this Gem....

It happened in 1960, after John Kennedy defeated Nixon by the narrowest of margins. Nixon believed that Kennedy's allies had stolen the election through systematic fraud. He had far more evidence in his court than Donald Trump, and his margin of loss was much smaller than Trump's current deficit in the polls. He didn't concede right away, and gave serious consideration to fighting the results. But ultimately Nixon accepted them -- and so did the Republican Party as well as the American public.

Aside from it being too early to start making calls on the 2020 campaign...

The Democratic nominee (who ever it might eventually be) has not even started campaigning yet.

Lamp,

It's significant Trump is so far ahead, even without knowing the Democratic candidate.

People are putting money down on it today

Trump has a 53% unfavorable rating before Mueller report.. I think the bookies are screwed.

Personally I would vote for a dead cat over Trump

As long as you don't hurt any other old people at the booths, God Bless ya, and this time only take one doughnut when you leave.

@#12 ... It's significant Trump is so far ahead, even without knowing the Democratic candidate.

It is not significant at this point in time. All it shows is that Pres Trump is ahead now. It has little bearing on where things will be in Nov 2020.

... People are putting money down on it today

People bet on lots of things. And lose.

Looking at the 2020 General Election polls roundup on RealClearPolitics ( www.realclearpolitics.com ), I'd say the bookies might be a bit optimistic with their 3-to-2 odds.

But as I said earlier, it is far too early...

Amazing how the alt-right nimrods have no idea how futures bets work and how lines are set, but that's to be expected from the low IQ morons.

The nimrods are displaying their confirmation bias proudly.
From the linked article:
However, it should be noted that the generic Democrat vs. Republican slightly favors the Democrat.

People bet on lots of things. And lose.

They don't do it intentionally, they want to win, using their best guesstimates. .. its skin in the game ....

How does this escape you?

I didn't believe Trump had a chance until I traveled the country by car....

Now I wouldn't count out people that actually put money on things, they can be wrong but their reasoning isnt ideological.

Really? Go home, try again ... that is weak noise...

Definitely Trump 2020.

The only thing the left has is to attack the left.
