Broadcaster Alex Jones will have to submit to a sworn deposition as part of a defamation lawsuit Sandy Hook families filed against the broadcaster and some of his associates, a Connecticut judge ruled Wednesday. The decision comes on the heels of Bellis' ruling that Jones must turn over internal financial, business and marketing documents related to InfoWars' operations.

"The Jones defendants concoct elaborate and false paranoia-tinged conspiracy theories because it moves product and they make money," the suit alleges. "Not because they truly believe what they are saying, but rather because it increases profits."

"Jones is the chief amplifier for a group that has worked in concert to create and propagate loathsome, false narratives about the Sandy Hook shooting and its victims, and promote their harassment and abuse," the lawsuit states.

"It is unsurprising that Alex Jones would do anything in his power to avoid testifying under oath and being forced to confront his outrageous conduct. From the beginning, we have said that Jones knowingly peddled false and malicious narratives in order to make money at the expense of the Sandy Hook families' grief, safety and security. Today's ruling moves us one step closer to proving this.""

CT newspaper:

Infowars' Alex Jones will likely face a Waterbury jury

...Infowars host Alex Jones, who is being sued for calling the Sandy Hook shooting a hoax, will likely face a Waterbury jury.

Superior Court Judge Barbara Bellis on Thursday afternoon told the lawyers for Jones and the parents of the Sandy Hook victims that she has recommended the case be moved to the complex litigation docket in Waterbury Superior Court where she will be sitting, beginning Sept. 1.

Jones' lawyer, Jay Wolman, who previously asked the judge to move the case out of the area, contending his client cannot get a fair trial here, said later that the move of the case to Waterbury could make his request moot....

Isn't his request sort of indicating that the reality of the trajedy automatically proves the parents' case?

Some CT geo background...

The lawyer originally wanted to move the case to Windham County, the north east corner of CT, to be as far away as possible from Newtown.

Newtown is in Fairfield County, the southwest corner of CT.

Waterbury is about 15-20 miles northeast of Newtown, not too far away.

I think the lawyer realized the ridiculousness of his request and used the move to Waterbury as an out.

I hope this case leaves Jones destitute and homeless. He is scum and deserves not one iota of sympathy.

I agree. In fact I think he is lower than scum. I dare say his lies and rants border on criminal. He prays on some of the most vulnerable and feeble minded in society while exploiting true tragedies like the massacre of innocent children by deranged gunmen.

Before it's all over Jones will move to another country.
