Possible independent presidential candidate and Democratic spoiler Howard Schultz on Tuesday dumped on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez' "Green New Deal," warning it would be "immoral" to spend trillions of dollars on an "unrealistic" solution.

"I don't understand how you're going to give a job for everybody, how you're going to give free college to everybody, how you're going to create clean energy throughout the country in every building of the land," he said. "I think it's immoral to suggest that we can tally up $20, $30, $40, $50 trillion of debt to solve a problem that could be solved in a different way."

Riiight. He has only been a registered Democrat his entire life, has only donated to Democratic candidates and has mostly liberal positions on, well, everything.Former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, who announced he is a preparing a presidential bid Sunday, has a long history as a Democratic political donor.

Schultz, whose projected net worth is $3.4 billion, and his wife Sheri, have contributed around $193,000 combined to Democratic candidates and organizations since the early 1990s. The bulk of those donations, $116,200 since 1996, went to the Democratic National Committee.

Democratic Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell of Washington, the original home and headquarters of Starbucks, were the two highest candidate recipients of Schultz's campaign cash in his limited history as a donor.

Cantwell has received $14,850 from Schultz and his wife since 2000, with Murray receiving $7,800 since 1997.

Other notable contributions by Schultz include multiple contributions to Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John Edwards during the 2008 Democratic primary, and a $1000 donation to John McCain in 1999.

Though Schultz called himself a "lifelong Democrat" in a 60 Minutes interview on Sunday, some Democrats have already spoken out against a possible bid, saying that an independent candidate would split Democratic votes and ensure President Donald Trump's re-election in 2020.

Despite ‘Centrist Independent' bid, Howard Schultz a longtime Democratic donor

And tell us this, roc:

If you walked into an average Starbucks in an average urban setting at 8am and took a poll, what would you expect the political make-up to be, generally speaking?

Howard Schultz said he doesn't see color.

This is the same CEO who ordered racial sensitivity training for his baristas after they called the cops on black customers.

Sounds like he could use some of that training himself.

"an average urban setting at 8am"

Oh I see what you did.

Aren't the Democrat Plantation, uh, "workers" still in bed at that ridiculously early hour? I know I am!

You could expect a lot of leftist hipsters wearing Che t-shirts, drinking pumpkin-spice lattes, listening to NPR, writing bad poetry, blogging on the retort, etc.

Republicans often pretend to be independents with NoBias.

Schultz is one of them.

In fact, the head Republican is also that type. His name is Donald J Trump and you gents worship the McDonald's he poops.

Schultz is a lifelong Democrat and his political contributions prove that.

He's a voice of reason and liberals and progressives are slamming him for it.

It's better to rally behind the most absurd political document I've ever seen (Green New Deal) than to deal in reality, I guess.

""Though Schultz called himself a "lifelong Democrat" in a 60 Minutes interview on Sunday"

So, why would any real Democrat consider running as an Independent and thereby assuring a win for Republicans. Bernie Sanders was an Independent but did not run as one for that very reason. He would have run as a Democrat had he won the primaries and he advised his supporters to vote Democrat in the election.

What makes you think Schultz couldn't win? Between the crazy socialist-democrats and the endless Trump drama, voters might find a centrist alternative very appealing.

What Howard Schultz Means When He Says He Grew Up In The Projects

"To say he came from nothing, it is very disingenuous," says a former neighbor. But the rags-to-riches tale appears to suit the billionaire with political aspirations.

- he makes so much sense he sounds like a Republican!

Like Trickle Down economics, which has never, ever worked, makes sense. Like protecting wealthy donors by fearmongering undereducated white males with divide and conquer social issues and racism makes sense.

Like foisting off criminals, traitors, warmongerers and/or imbeciles like Nixon, Reagan, GW, and Trump makes sense.

Those things only make sense for wealthy donors, not for the American people... and that's been the Republican Way with every Pres after Ike.
