The Jamaican caller told the 90-year-old District man he had won $72 million and a new Mercedes Benz in the Mega Millions lottery, but the man needed to send $50,000 in taxes and fees to get his money. The didn't know that William H. Webster would call him back the next day with the FBI listening in.

One drop in a flood. This is important to me because of what happened to my mother who suffers from Alzheimer. She was taken to the cleaners by a number of scoundrels. We had to take control of her social security or she would have been pushing a shopping cart. She was furious about this until her Alzheimer got so bad she no longer remembers anything except her childhood.

Your post should serve as a lesson to all of us who have elderly parents showing even early signs of dementia or Alzheimers. I've had my own experiences. Taking over as a legal conservator is a difficult decision to make, not to mention heartbreaking, but it's one that is absolutely necessary in order to protect aging parents from scammers.
