Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Red Sox president Sam Kennedy said Saturday it was unlikely the World Series champion Red Sox would visit the White House next month if the government remains shut down. The Sox, Kennedy said, are sympathetic to the thousands of government employees who have been furloughed or are working without pay. "It's hit people hard in the New England area," he said at the team's Winter Weekend event. "I'm not sure it's appropriate to be celebrating in such a public way while there's people who are struggling right now. That's been the internal conversation. "We'll continue to examine it and make a decision here pretty soon."

More virtue-signaling. No one cares about your grandstanding. Stay home and save the taxpayers some money.

"No one cares about your grandstanding."

Wrong, the vast majority of Americans do. You are part of the hateful minority.

It's not grandstanding. It's a moral decision. And a good one.

No kidding. All that travel time for Big Macs and pizza? Not worth it.

Massachusetts weighing offering benefits to federal workers

Baker said there are about 47,000 federal employees in Massachusetts, many of whom have been furloughed and are going without pay. Thousands of contractors are in the same position.

Nulli has been virtue-signaling about virtue-signaling for a few years now:

'Virtue-signalling' – the putdown that has passed its sell-by date
20 Jan 2016

What started off as a clever way to win arguments has become a lazy put down. It's too often used to cast aspersions on opponents as an alternative to rebutting their arguments. In fact, it's becoming indistinguishable from the thing it was designed to call out: smug posturing from a position of self-appointed authority.

"smug posturing from a position of self-appointed authority."

Describes that halfwit dullifidian to a tee.

Good for the Sox. Individual-1 is trying to normalize the shutdown, arguing that no one except his patriotic government workforce is going without, and those who are enduring pain are doing so voluntarily. They are not.

Anyone have an idea of what would happen at your local Dump Hotel if cooks, room attendants and accounting clerks were asked to work for the promise of pay...at some time in the future? They would all find new jobs...

- They would all find new jobs..

That's what all these useless federal bureaucrats should do. The only people we should get back to work are the park rangers, who actually work for a living.

Good. Now put the money saved towards the Wall.

Ladders. Don't forget that Mexicans already know about ladders.

The entire "Wall" argument asks Americans to pretend that we don't know about ladders. We have to pretend to be stupid to please Trump. Most of us just won't but some of us are doing so. I hope he likes you and pats you on the head. My dog loves it when I do that for him.

The Wall is a security blanket and burning cross monument for racist ------.
Secure the job market by punishing illegal employers.
Secure the border the way that is working now.

Illegals tunneled under the wall, but were caught by BPS.

How is the weather in FantasyLand today Comrade??

If you are not sure and you wish to make battle plans for today check with the National Weather Service. Many of whom are furloughed or working for YOU to protect your life and property without pay.
