The Trump administration now estimates that the cost of the government shutdown will be twice as steep as originally forecast. The original estimate that the partial shutdown would subtract 0.1 percentage point from growth every two weeks has now been doubled to a 0.1 percentage point subtraction every week, according to an official who asked not to be named.

Trump does not care! He will never place anyone's interest (including the United States' or its people's) over his own, end of discussion.

The only way to end the shutdown will be if Mitch McConnell allows clean CRs to be voted on in the Senate and then the entire congressional GOP bolsters the courage to do what they should have done at the start, join with Democrats to override Trump's veto if he doesn't see the writing on the wall and sign the passed CR.

At this point, the GOP is not defending the Constitution because what Trump demands is unconstitutional! A President should never hold the entire government hostage to force Congress to fund a project that they won't organically through the normal political process. Why are we even arguing this lunacy? Trump saying "I want my wall or I'll refuse to give you the normal operation of government" is not a negotiation, it's extortion which if I'm not mistaken is a crime under most conditions.

Spoken like a true imbecile who didn't bother to even read the summary at the top of this page:

Revenue at government entities stops; expenses like rent, utilities and insurance don't.

It costs a lot to put the brakes on a big, lumbering, drunken elephant like the federal government.

I remember back (when America was Great) that shutting down the US Government, undermining our Democratic institutions, destroying faith in our Elections and our Democracy and attempting to destroy America's Economy was act of Treason.

Isn't that pretty much the same Agenda as ISIS?
