Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

President Trump on Monday shared an op-ed from a writer claiming to be an anonymous senior member of his administration who harshly criticizes federal workers as disloyal to the White House and worthy of losing their jobs. The writer of the op-ed, published by conservative news site The Daily Caller, argues the partial government shutdown is an opportunity for Trump to greatly reduce the size of government.

Trump shared the op-ed on Tuesday, a day after it was published by The Daily Caller, by retweeting a tweet by his son, Donald Trump, Jr.

From the Daily Caller op-ed:

As one of the senior officials working without a paycheck, a few words of advice for the president's next move at shuttered government agencies: lock the doors, sell the furniture, and cut them down.

Federal employees are starting to feel the strain of the shutdown. I am one of them. But for the sake of our nation, I hope it lasts a very long time, till the government is changed and can never return to its previous form.

The lapse in appropriations is more than a battle over a wall. It is an opportunity to strip wasteful government agencies for good.

"federal workers as disloyal to the White House"

Federal workers need to be loyal to the Constitution and the country, not to this tin-pot dictator Trump.

Do you think Trump wants to consciously destroy the Coast Guard?

Yeah!

Who needs food inspections, air safety and the Coast Guard?!?!

And no one needs their tax refunds!

We already know Trump wants to destroy our most important military alliance. That he would also wish to destroy one entire United States Armed Force (Coast Guard) would follow.

There's a reason the national parks are being allowed to be trashed.

They're gonna be on the chopping block before 2020.

Despite all his blather, Mayor McCheese hates America and the people living there.

Seriously, who has he not insulted? You can't argue that he supports the majority. The best you could argue is that he loves his base, which is only a fraction of America's people, but even that is conditional. They have to be actively fawning over him, or he is quick to turn on them.

McCheese is an angry, bitter, dim-witted, paranoid crook who makes Nixon look like a saint in comparison.

Trump's orders from Putin are to weaken our government institutions and destabilize our people and our alliances. He's doing a fantastic job.

"Winning" = scorched earth.

But liberals are unhappy about so many people suffering and America being run into the friggin' ground, so Trump supporters are absolutely thrilled.

Drug lords thank Trump for weakening the coast guard. The coast guard, the people that interdict drug smuggling on the high seas.

Someone needs to help these folks get new jobs asap. Their federal positions aren't coming back.

"Someone needs to help these folks get new jobs asap. Their federal positions aren't coming back."

If it keeps up like this, there will be a substantial bump in the unemployment rate, as well as taking a chunk out of the economy when all those people stop spending money.

Just as frustrating; McConnell, with a few other Republican Senators, could end this with an override vote.

Republican dictionary #151-153

#151 Essential: providing services that only directly help republicans

#152 non-essential: providing services that directly help some people who are not republicans or some of the republicans with brown skin or the poor ones so they don't count

#153 vacation:
1) living in a tent because your home was destroyed and FEMA funds are being slow walked because Trump might want to use them for things HE wants to do
2) You get to stay home because of the government shutdown. You can't pay the rent or buy food or pay the heating bill or cable tv bill but hey you get to stay home from work in a cold house with no TV!!

Remember when an Anonymous Senior Member of the Trump Administration who wrote op-eds was "an anonymous, gutless coward"?

Remember when if you looked at "this horrible thing that took place," you would ask, "is it subversion, is it treason?"

I think it was last week. So hard to keep up.

If the author thinks this is good policy and is the best thing for the country why didn't they sign their name to the op-ed?

Any doubt that he would do a "PATCO" if required?

What's worse an alleged inefficient government or a greedy drug company sending the sick to an early grave?

It's being reported that Trump was NOT aware that air traffic controllers were federal employees. He had just assumed that they worked for the airports.

There's also a report that he had been told by one of his staff people that the vast majority of the federal employees who would be caught-up in the shutdown worked in Washington DC and therefore the impact on the rest of the country would be minimal.

If Trump is really as crafty as he thinks he is.

He'd end the shutdown and claim he did it for the people.

Because he cares so much about them.

He could paint the Democratic Party as unsympathetic to the plight of unemployed Americans.

CLOWN

"He'd end the shutdown and claim he did it for the people. "

He'd also lose his leverage.

Think bigger picture.

The Wizard and his Minion need these diversions to last as long as possible while they confer in secret to destroy all roadblocks (NATO) standing in the way of the Wizard's expansion.

I think we'll soon be subjected to the usual Sunday morning hook/line/sinker propaganda about big, bad NATO.
