Because we all know the Clemson Tigers got to where they are now by feasting on cold, greasy, fast-food take-out.

Trump said they bought a "1,000 burgers" for Clemson; "It was piled up a mile high" said Trump.

Danforth & the other literalists: 1000 hamburgers would not reach a mile high.

Well, if he hadn't called 2.6% "more than 10 percent", his math skills might not have been called into question.

Next: "This was the largest gathering of fast food, PERIOD."

Trump to media yesterday: "We have 300 hamburgers"
Trump to Clemson yesterday: "I go out and send for about 1,000 hamburgers"
Trump this morning: "I served them massive amounts of Fast Food (I paid), over 1000 hamberders"

I should note that, at one point tonight, President Trump said he bought 300 hamburgers. Later, he claimed he bought 1,000 hamburgers.

Trump has a tendency to self-aggrandize. He invariably inflates his self-worth, whether it's his inaugural crowd size or how many burgers he says he bought. That's why we need to check out his facts when it comes to everything from how much money he has to how much he says his tax cuts are going to save the average American worker.

Wow. Too bad that Individual-1 didn't have some sort of banquet space at which he could have hosted the team. Like a really nice hotel, close to the White House. A place with good food and a good reputation. Some place where Trump could have seemed like a great host, and perhaps, where his money spent could have produced a good value. A place that could even cater-out to the WH, to provide a first-class meal in these unusual times. Too bad our president didn't know of some place like that--just down the road from where he lives. Hmmm. Too bad. Instead White House visitors got cold burgers and fries, warm sweet tea and paper napkins.

Keepin' it classy in our nation's house...

Shutdown Prompts Trump to Order Fast Food for White House Event

The "shutdown" isn't what prompted him to order fast food. He's a self-proclaimed billionaire and could have bought the athletes any meal.

The only things that "prompted" this order are his childish taste in food and the fact that he's a cheapskate.

Fishpaw, just because you don't get why fast food isn't appropriate for a White House dinner invitation doesn't mean the rest of the world should abandon a sense of occasion.
Can't you see that this is a memory they will have for the rest of their life, but it will always have this orange clown specter looming over it, as they get asked to explain the surreal - "so you got invited for dinner at the White House? and got served a big mac and fries?"

>Liberals are going to say because of Trump serving this none of these players are going to get into the NFL?

No, Hatter was trying to dispel the notion that D1 college football players at elite universities exist on a diet based on big macs and other fast food, as you suggested when you posted:
"Same stuff they love to eat in college."

Doesn't this Dotard own a hotel just down the street? Why did he have it catered? I mean, he paid for it after all.

#37 | Posted by SunTzuMeow at 2019-01-15 05:40 PM | Reply

If he only had the meager means to cater an event, say, from one of the restaurants in the hotels he's raking in millions from...or perhaps he knew where to get some quality steaks...then he might not have had to serve cold hamberders to elite athletes.

#38 | Posted by chuffy at 2019-01-15 06:30 PM | Reply

I am sorry but this is ridiculously stupid on so many levels from tRump.

1: Athletes on an elite team - I guarantee in this day and age Fast Food is not their thing. These guys most likely eat very specific diets because they want their chance at the 'jackpot' that is the pros.
2: He paid for it out of his own pocket - Can you find another way for a billionaire to say I am incredibly cheap?
3: He probably thought it was so classy because he loves it so much - much like overcooked steak with ketchup tRump again shows he doesn't know what good food is.
4: Just the whole picture - Piles of Cheap McDonald's food served on fancy plates in an elegant room served up by the POTUS. Sort of makes him look like a clown.

I am reminded that it has been widely reported he spends hours a day during 'executive time' laying on his bed and scratching his balls while he binges on Big Macs and FoxNews

MSGT You continue to show how gullible you are. You provide a link that confirms Trump SAID he would donate his salary to charity. There is no evidence Trump has ever donated any of his own money to an actual charity. So far he has donated his salary but not to any charities. Instead he has donated it to various federal agencies like the SBA (after asking Congress to cut their federal funding by 25%)
