Following a report that the FBI opened a counterintelligence investigation into President Donald Trump's relationship with Russia, former Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Frank Figliuzzi said it is likely that Robert Mueller indeed has "classified" evidence.

While it would not surprise me if Mr Mueller does indeed have the info asserted here (all the prosecutors on his team have security clearances).

I also want to note that Mr Figliuzzi is a frequent talking head on the news-channel commentary shows. I've noticed that sometimes he has a tendency to lean a bit too far over the tips of his skis.

"It means likely, Joy, even though the article is citing the public behavior of the president, as you just noted, in order to get this to pass muster, in order to get this through FBI headquarters, through teams of lawyers, across the street to the Department of Justice, to be the title name of an investigation, I am virtually certain that more evidence than just the public behavior of the president is involved in this and I think that evidence is likely classified evidence," Figluizzi said.

I just saw Mr Figiuzzi discussing this topic.

I've not ever seen him talk about something using such a high level of gravitas as he did for this topic. He spoke similarly to what you quoted, and more.

imo, he's definitely not over the tips of his skis on this one.

Thanks for the update.

Muller is being methodical.

When he's done investigating there won't be anyone guilty who can escape swift justice.

I believe what Figliuzzi is delicately saying is that Trump has been under FISA warrant surveillance since the FBI started their counterintelligence investigation into him almost 2 years ago. If the FBI has an evidentiary-based suspicion that any American might be working for/with Russian intelligence agents, one of the first things they would do is seek surveillance warrants. It's only both logical and what is thought to be normal procedure.

Of course Mueller has classified information that is damning against Trump. The things already confirmed in public are damning against Trump.

Has Mueller interviewed the Helsinki translator yet?

It might be important to know detail of Trumps exchange with Putin.
