Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

A union that represents Border Patrol agents recently deleted a webpage that said building walls and fences along the border to stop illegal immigration would be "wasting taxpayer money." The deleted webpage, posted in 2012, argued that border barriers don't tackle the root causes of migration -- and could potentially encourage more migrants to enter the U.S. fraudulently or overstay visas.

"Walls and fences are only a speed bump," the webpage reads. "People who want to come to the United States to obtain employment will continue to go over, under, and around the walls and fences that are constructed."

The union argued additional barriers "will undoubtedly result in an increase in fraudulent documents and smuggling through the ports of entry" as frustrated migrants seek other modes of entry."

...The page, originally published in October 2012, was deleted on or after January 4, according to archives obtained through the Wayback Machine[1]. This was the day after the press briefing, and four days before President Trump gave a prime-time television address arguing for Congress to spend $5.7 billion in order to build a larger wall along the US-Mexico border. ...

An excerpt from the Border Patrol Union webpage that was deleted:

  • Walls and fences are temporary solutions that focus on the symptom (illegal immigration) rather than the problem (employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens).

  • Walls and fences are only a speed bump. People who want to come to the United States to obtain employment will continue to go over, under, and around the walls and fences that are constructed.

  • Walls and fences will undoubtedly result in an increase in fraudulent documents and smuggling through the Ports of Entry.

  • Walls and fences do not solve the issue of people entering the country legally and staying beyond the date they are required to leave the country, a problem which will undoubtedly increase as more walls and fences are constructed.

During Trump's visit to McAllen this week a border patrol agent showed him two recently discovered tunnels under the wall in McAllen, TX:

Topside, any ladder 1' taller will work.

Technology and personnel are the answer. Taht's what the Republican Congress told Trump last month when this shutdown began.

Sounds familiar. Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah. Trump - commencement speech:

"If there's a concrete wall in front of you, go through it, go over it, go around it, ... But get to the other side of that wall." - Donald J. Trump, Wagner College in Staten Island in 2004.

@#7 ... Wagner College in Staten Island ...

    Useless bit of trivia...

During the early 1970's one of my summer jobs was to direct traffic in the parking lots around the college for Wagner College's commencement day.

That's actually an interesting (to me) coincidence.

They want that precious precious public funding.

Replace Border Patrol with robots. And tear gas their administration as they try to clear out their desks. Maybe privatize the biological hazard scrubbers waiting with fire hoses just outside. That would be a great contract to employ Mexicans!

These greedy scum have zero problem misrepresenting and mis-handling the crisis which led to avoidable deaths of immigrants and they are still imprisoning these people. Billions of dollars are at stake - the fake Stanford Experiment has been performed on us all. They have detained only six people of legitimate interest?

Five point six billion dollars and growing.. I expect a violent false flag as the public pressure builds.

And if you listen close to the comments made by Mike Pence, he actually believes that once the 'wall' is built, that they can start to lay-off border patrol agents. After all, once you have a 30 ft wall from sea to shining sea, what else is needed...
