Friday, January 11, 2019

CNN learned Thursday that the first US military ground equipment has been withdrawn from Syria in recent days but there's still no clarity on when troops might withdraw with Pompeo and national security adviser John Bolton refusing to commit to a withdrawal timetable in recent days.

I'm sure something "convenient" will happen during the coming days to make them reverse course.

#7 | Posted by NerfHerder at 2019-01-11 12:49 PM | Reply

Our exit from Syria is based on "conditional" reasons according to National Security Advisor Dan Bolton. So, what are those "conditions?" Looks to me that the only "conditions" are the mood of Trump.

Angry WH Staffer @AngrierWHStaff

I'm going to repeat again -- dysfunction is dangerous. Bolton says we'll be in Syria till ISIS is (actually) defeated, which sounds great except nobody remembered to tell DoD, so they're drawing down as they were last ordered.

If ISIS was truly defeated, the neocons and the MIC would have to manufacture another bad guy to replace them. How long would that take? It's much much easier to perform a temporary draw down, let the enemy morph into something stronger and more nefarious so they can mount a spectacular attack that will make an even more spectacular splash in the press so that even more intervention is screamed by both Dems and Repubs in the near future and assented to by the average American citizen in the name of "keeping us safe" from bad stuff.

It's the same pattern
For the past
75 years

Just yesterday Pompeo was insulting Obama for pulling troops out of Iraq, ISIS will make him wish he didn't say what he did. Pure scumbag.

Wait... wuh? Take the equipment and leave the troops???... ISIL love hearing that.

Lets see how everyone does mano a mano.

This is NOT a Cut and Run.

(also NO collusion! I think... as far as I know...at least I am pretty sure)

I wondered about this. There was a new sign on the highway here for "Donald's Use Military Equipment, CHEAP!".

Makes sense now.

The last remaining ISIS pocket is 85% smaller since Christmas. It's down to 1 square mile. No US forces are in contact on this front. The US troops are 120 miles away.

Deir ar Zour, not that any people complaining about us ending an ongoing war crime actually care.

I listen to NPR all the time, I've heard people who know say that is wishful thinking.

Adam Schiff @RepAdamSchiff

Troop withdrawal from Syria has already begun, over the objection of our military and despite John Bolton's statements last week.

The Trump Administration's foreign policy is as deeply flawed in its conception as it is dangerously incompetent in its execution.

John Bolton (and Pompeo too?) are going around saying that America is going to stay until the job is done. Will they also be quitting in response to this?

"John Bolton (and Pompeo too?) are going around saying that America is going to stay until the job is done."

But they get to determine when that job is done and it will coincide with Trump's evaluation.

All John Bolton has been allowed to do is mediate and talk peace with every country he hates. He's as angry as Danni.

Listen to NPR less, read the conflict maps more. They are updated daily by people on the front.
