Donald Trump says he has ordered the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to stop sending money to the State of California to help the state deal with deadly forest fires "unless they get their act together". Mr Trump claimed in a tweet that California's mismanagement of forests has led to dangerous situations in which wild fires can quickly build into massive and unwieldy blazes, in an apparently reference to last year's deadly Camp Fire in the state. "Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forrest fires that, with proper Forrest Management, would never happen", Mr Trump wrote in a tweet that was later replaced with one spelling "forest" correctly. He continued: "Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money. It is a disgraceful situation in lives & money!"

More from the article: "Mr Trump last year approved expedited disaster relief in November for the deadly wildfires there that became the deadliest forest fire in California history with 86 deaths. At that time, he expressed dissatisfaction with the way that the State of California had managed its forests, even though the vast majority of forest land in the state is owned by the federal government."

California should stop sending money to the federal government, with all of the fires, etc. they are still a net contributor to the federal government while most of the states that support him are net recipients of money from the federal government.

There really is no depth to how big of a POS this guy can be.

And his POS supporters cheer every second of it.

"Mr Trump claimed in a tweet that California's mismanagement of forests"

www.redding.com

"Trump blames state for fires, but many of the worst on federal land

The largest blaze in state history, the 410,200-acre Ranch Fire, this past summer burned on large swaths of land managed by the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management in Mendocino and nearby counties north of San Francisco.

In fact, six of California's 16 most destructive wildfires in the past 25 years -- in terms of structures destroyed -- occurred on federal lands, according to Cal Fire records.

In Shasta County, last summer's 229,650-acre Carr Fire started on National Park Service lands before spreading to private property and eventually into the city of Redding.

The Hirz and Delta fires also burned mostly Forest Service lands in Shasta County just after the Carr Fire died down. Between the two, they consumed 109,500 acres, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection."

The man is a ------- moron.

California should respond by letting his base starve.

Yes. This is just Trump being a blustery jackass, per usual.

Yup:

Of the approximately 33 million acres of forest in California, federal agencies (including the USDA Forest Service and USDI Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service) own and manage 19 million acres (57%). State and local agencies including CalFire, local open space, park and water districts and land trusts own another 3%. 40% of California's forestland is owned by families, Native American tribes, or companies.

Yeah Jeff. Is it acceptable to you that BLOTUS has no idea how all that works?

No, it isn't.

Fact is he's just running his mouth. Nothing is going to become of this incredibly stupid comment other than adding it to an infinitely long list of incredibly stupid comments by him.

Can Trump actually do anything while the gov is shutdown?

#18 | Posted by ClownShack at 2019-01-09 02:37 PM | Reply

Most of the forests that burned in California were on federal lands, which the federal government has the responsibility to maintain and which Trump's shutdown is, right now, preventing them from doing. The man is such an idiot he doesn't even know who works for him.

Didn't Trump want California to rake the forest to stop fires..like Finland.. time.com
would be funny if our country wasn't being run by someone with dementia

Good for you Donny.

The very idea of cutting off aid for the families who have lost everything in those fires is amazingly disgusting. Trump manages to get more hateful by the day. I'm sorry, look at Paradise, CA and tell me it's ok to refuse FEMA money for the people who lived there. Republicans are reptiles. That's the only explanation that makes any sense.

Nothing will come form this? Wishful thinking, of course.

Actually, everything he says has an effect. Everything affects Everything. The POTUS affects Everything more than most of us "normies" do. I have never had a president intentionally harm me and my family. I am not sure how to react to that. This is uncharted territory for me. But, he says and does just strengthens my resolve and my assurance that my initial analysis was correct. We are so FAWKED.

This will just harden Californians and strengthen their resolve even more to stand against this inept and corrupt and increasingly tyrannical administration.

America will thank us some day.
