A quick review of the current status of this project: Day= 21; Total collected= $19.4 Million; Contributors= 322.6 Thousand; Goal= $1.0 Billion

Alternate links: Google News | Twitter

Average contribution: Per Day = $924 Thousand; Per Contributor = $60

Admin's note: Participants in this discussion must follow the site's moderation policy. Profanity will be filtered. Abusive conduct is not allowed.

It should be noted that the goal of $1.0 Billion is vastly less than the currently estimated total cost and assumes that that the total cost does not increase (!).

Days to reach goal: 1,082 (three years).*

*: Based on two assumptions:
1. The contribution per day remains constant.
2. The goal doesn't change.

Looks like some of the hilljacks have been collecting beer cans and bottles. Wait until they find out they are helping the environment by doing so.

You know most of these racist rubes can't hold on to a job or are too lazy to work.
Wait until they find out that thr money will not pay for the wall but go into some conmans bank account.

I'm actually surprised PayPal is allowing this racist act (funding the wall) to go on.

I heard a caller on some right wing radio show the other day talking about this.

She seemed to think it was possible that "the people" were gonna actually scrape together $1 billion dollars because they had already raised so much!

The naïveté was genuinely rather cute.

I thought Mexico was paying for the wall.

And I did not realize that Mexicans had that much money just laying around!

You go Mexico!

Its like the same ratio of trump's claimed wealth to real wealth at its peak.

$19.4 million.

That money could help so many Americans.

Instead, it's going to be wasted.

The poor get poorer.

The rich laugh all the way to the bank.

By the way. Donnie "7 Billion in the bank" could contribute to the gofundme, to show support. He could. But, he doesn't care, why do you?

THAT is EXACTLY why spending billions of our dollars for a useless wall to appease a tyrant is immoral.

Humpy is so FAWKED!!!

The opiate addiction crisis in this country must be slackening for these folks to blow their money on another pipe dream...

Just yesterday Trump said the wall is an important symbol to his voters.

I hope somebody saves that piece of video because Trump just said symbolism is a national emergency.

Flint still doesn't have clean drinking water.

Thousands of veteran's are still homeless.

So... 62 million people voted for Donald Trump. If each of them donated $100 then there would be no need to have this government shutdown because they would have their $5 billion.

If they truly believe so much in this cause, why are they unwilling to open up their pocket books to "protect the country"?

Seems they are not willing to put their money where their racism is.

I, for one, am steadfast in my refusal to pay for their racism with my hard-earned tax dollars.

Realize one thing about this. The same people who are supporting this just enjoyed a 1.5 trillion dollar tax cut. Contribute suckers! The one dependable thing the Republican elites can rely on is the stupidity of their base. They are laughing at you as you contribute. Where are the billion dollar contributions from them? Huh? Laughable. And sad. They just saved far more than the goal of this effort in tax cuts, they could contribute enough to fund the entire wall and never feel a financial pain, but they want average Americans to take money out of their budgets to fund this stupid wall which will accomplish nothing except to enrich some Trump cronies. Sorry guys, can't even take this effort seriously, it's just a method of draining funds from average American and it is not surprising that they found a horribly wounded vet to make the plea, too bad that the Republicans didn't have the same respect for Max Cleland's sacrifice. I say GARBAGE (AND YOU KNOW THAT WASN'T REALLY THE WORD I WANTED TO SAY) on the whole thing!

Trump brags so much, of how rich he is, so why doesn't he just pay for the freaking wall out of his own money?

He is getting paid just a dollar a year to be president, he said he was so wealthy that he didn't need the $$$$$

So this would show the country that he REALLY believes in what he's saying......

If only the Rep party was as rich as the Dems try to make everyone believe. They could fund this wall with just 1 rep donating the change you find in his couch.

Rich Republicans don't want a wall.

"Even President Ronald Reagan tried for 8 years to build a Border Wall, or Fence, and was unable to do so," the president wrote in a tweet. "Others also have tried. We will get it done, one way or the other!"

--El Presidente Donaldo Trump

"Rather than talking about putting up a fence, why don't we work out some recognition of our mutual problems, make it possible for them to come here legally with a work permit," he said. "And then while they're working and earning here, they pay taxes here. And when they want to go back they can go back."

The border, he said, should be open "both ways" – and border security policy should take into account the economic challenges facing Mexico.

--The REAL Ghost of Ronald Reagan
