The withdrawal of US troops from Syria depends on certain conditions, US National Security Adviser John Bolton says, in a further indication that the process is being slowed down. On a trip to Israel and Turkey, he said he would seek Turkish assurances that Kurds in northern Syria would be safe. The US also wants to ensure that the remnants of the Islamic State (IS) group are defeated, he added.

Ergodan is laughing at Bolton. Actually, everyone should be laughing at that lunatic.

So, it looks like Pres Trump is in full retreat from his declaration that the troops would pull out within 30 days.

First he backed off to about four months to withdraw the troops.

Then the timetable all but disappeared.

Now the Trump admin is saying that the withdrawal is conditions.

Next we'll read a tweet that the troops are not leaving at all, and it was the fake news to propagated that rumor.

Trump lied about pulling out? Flight Risk is NOT surprised.

Syria, the Shutdown... both distractions from the Mueller Probe.

... Syria Conflict: Bolton Says ...

Reminds me of this article...

It's Not The Deep State That Hurts Trump -- It's The Shallow State
https://www.npr.org/2018/08/09/635021427/its-not-the-deep-state-that-hurts-trump-it-s-the-shallow-
state

...President Trump and his supporters have often complained about the "deep state" -- a supposedly shadowy cabal of opposition bureaucrats buried deep within the government. But perhaps the biggest impediment to the president isn't the deep state at all. It's the "shallow state" -- which exists right below Donald Trump at the Cabinet level.

After all, there's a distinct pattern in the administration. The president makes a claim that seems to contradict longstanding policy. Shortly thereafter, a Cabinet member or two will step up to a microphone and reiterate U.S. policy, contradicting the president. ...

Maybe the "shallow state" is what Pres Trump needs to fear, instead of his imaginary deep state.

The U.S. military ramped up its bombing campaign against the Islamic State's remaining territory in the eastern part of Syria. Trump has a habit of reversing himself on a dime, which is frightening given the nuclear age we live in.

I'm glad John Bolton is here to clarify the matter, and glad that Individual-1 continues to hire only the best...

The United States will pull out of Syria only with assurances Turkey will not attack Kurdish allies there, national security adviser John Bolton told journalists on Sunday.

Bolton will be the next to leave. Trump will blame his mustache.

funny stuff..

And I hate to tell you WE told you that America is way more than just Donald Trump tweeting on his toilet.

Actually no, I don't hate telling you that at all.

It is just getting annoying to have to repeat myself all the time... like talking to a 12 year old.

Which I probably am. Most of the time.

Hate to say I told you so...

Then why do you? Don't you have an anecdote about some super-important relative you can slide in instead?

OP is rushing to equal the number of Trump's flip flops. Most of them due to what the last person in the room said or right wing pundits whined about.

"The United States will pull out of Syria only with assurances Turkey will not attack Kurdish allies there, national security adviser John Bolton told journalists on Sunday."

I have as much faith in that statement, or anything John Bolton says, as I do that we would not desert the Kurds under George H.W. Bush. Complete nonsense. Trump would sacrifice the lives of the Kurds if he thought deserting them would help him in the next election. He has no soul. He just doesn't care. The truth shall make you free!

Obama said we would be out 8 years ago. Keep the troops in that are necessary to keep Isis at bay and pull the ones that are there for nation building.
