Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, December 04, 2018

A CIA briefing on Tuesday left senators raging at Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, with Sen. Bob Corker declaring a jury would find him "guilty" of murdering journalist Jamal Kashoggi and Sen. Lindsey Graham asserting the Trump administration must be "willfully blind" not to hold MBS, as he is known, accountable for the killing of Khashoggi.

They are getting as much space between themselves and Trump as possible in light of the coming Mueller report.

I mean, it's not as if most of them are going to do anything about Saudi Arabia other than say the "Prince isn't the state"... which he actually is.

Stop clowning around!

But you are correct, sir. My bad. May the spirit of Emmett Kelly forgive me.

If you believe the original narrative, over 3000 people were killed on 9/11 in an event that was orchestrated and funded by Saudi officials. Absolutely nothing was done about It.

What makes anyone believe that our government will do anything about one dead journalist???

Nothing? We bankrolled a purge of Saudi society, invaded Afghanistan, then invaded Iraq.

The faux outrage on all parties is some dark comedy at its finest.

"Ensuing protests in favour of Morsi were violently suppressed culminating with the dispersal and massacre of pro-Morsi sit-ins on 14 August 2013, amid ongoing unrest; journalists,[21] and several hundreds protestors were killed by police and military force. Muslim brotherhood members claim 2,600 [22] Human rights watch documented 817 deaths, calling it 'one of the world's largest killings of demonstrators in a single day in recent history', while the government puts the figure at 624.[23]"

What did we do? We sold them F-16s, and it was bi-partisan.

I wouldn't say nothing. We triggered a low grade civil war in Saudi Arabia that peaked in 2005. We backed their government, killed thousands of various aligned militants, with many simply disappearing into the Saudi "legal system".

Fighting them over there, so we don't have to fight them here!

Egypt is better as a secular military dictatorship than a religious fundamental dictatorship masquerading as a democracy, e.g. Muslim Brotherhood.

The problem with killing Khoshoggi is it wasn't done by an American drone. Crown Prince is getting a little uppity. This is our chance to correct his behavior.

That's the most ironic part. Khash gets press as a "liberal journalist". He was a Muslim Brotherhood politician advocating the destruction of the Saudi monarchy/military dictatorship, and replacing it with a religious fundamental dictatorship masquerading as a democracy. Bulldoze hundreds in the streets, we've got your back. Get caught by the Turks killing one dissident? We have to pretend we're mad at you and hope it blows over. #LateStageHegemony
