Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Still, it's safe to assume that some aspect of Captain Marvel will incorporate the events of Avengers: Infinity War. The end of Infinity War found Nick Fury sending out an urgent page to Captain Marvel following Thanos' devastating snap, which erased half the universe's population. Captain Marvel may be the only superhero left, alongside the original Avengers, who can help destroy Thanos once and for all.

Spider-Women, Captain Marvel & Harley Quinn

Deadline broke the news this week that Sony is ramping up a Spider-Women film that will feature three female iterations of Marvel's wall-crawling Spider-Man and a script by Bek Smith. The project joins a growing wave of female superhero projects in the works that will test the conventional assumption that the mask-and-cape genre is a "boys only" sector.

More than a dozen female superhero film projects are in the pipeline from Sony, Fox, Disney's Marvel Studios and Warner Bros. The wave of female heroes extends to television and Hollywood's new high-profile streaming site launches as well.

Next June, Fox will release Dark Phoenix, the 12th film in its X-Men franchise.

Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) plays the title character, aka Jean Grey, who (like her Marvel Studios counterpart Captain Marvel) is the most powerful hero in her screen mythology.

Maybe they'll make a Katzenjammer Kids movie and you'll quit being such a curmudgeonly old troll....

.. you pompous ass. There are young people today that have more culture in their pinky finger than you've ever thought about having.

Ugh. I agree with Nulli.

This stuff is awful. WWE for the seriously socially awkward...

Most movies are awful. I'd put just about any comic book movie up against You've Got Mail.

What is Captain Marvel planning to do with that sonic screwdriver?

Watchmen and Ghostworld are still my fave "comic book" movies of all time.

Since they have to scale down the powers of pretty much every character, Captain Marvel is not one that is going to transition well. She is going to be too similar to other characters and, most likely, be seen as a collection of rip-offs, like Deadpool except for the comedy. Not sure how well this one is going to go over compared to the other MCU movies. But since she is integral to the Infinity War story, they had to bring her in.

Haters can hate all they want but this scene of a holocaust survivor realizing just how damaged he is was approved by an actual holocaust survivor and it's easy to see why.

Haven't seen Ghost World but Watchmen didn't do much for me.

I think Sin City is the best comic book movie I've seen.

300 is probably the worst. It was one of those movies where, spolier alert, I somehow just knew that after the opening scene where they toss the inadequate baby down the pit, that the best scene and it was all downhill from there. 300 is a dumb story written by an eighth grader and it shows.

Here is a not-a-secret: Put good actors in your movie and you get a better movie. Pattick Stewart and Ian Mckellen are good actors. They made that X-Men movie a good movie.

300 is about two terrible groups fighting each other.

I don't have a problem watching very fit young women in form fitting costumes.

Let me guess - Invincible good guys and invincible bad guys punching each through walls for 2.5 hours.

Can we stop supporting this played out superhero crap yet?

Someone hasn't seen any Thor movies.

It's as much Shakespeare as it is action adventure.
