Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Let's be blunt: The only significant foreign policy "achievements" Trump can claim are eviscerating our reputation as a reliable ally that defends human rights and giving autocrats the impression that they can get away with murder (and dismemberment and more) without paying any significant price.

In column B, let's list all the foreign policy drubbings of the Trump administration.

The EU is disgusted with Trump's pullout of the Iran Agreement and imposition of new sanctions. This put every company that uses US Banks in a bind and they must comply or face fines. But China, Russia and the EU are discussing workarounds which could diminish the power of the dollar and US Banks. This mess is in a temporary state of limbo.

US support for the war in Yemen, now the greatest humanitarian disaster of the 21st century, is unraveling.

Trump constantly trolls his opponents and they fall for it every time.

It's both amusing and a bit pathetic to watch.

It's mostly embarrassing though that he demeans the office he holds just to stick it to his opposition.

And that's why Republicans elected him. Not that I am agreeing with you that libs are getting "owned" but his grade-school insults and general lack of respect and civility towards his opponents really fires up his base. Why? Because Republicans are so used to losing. They have lost the culture war (gay marriage, civil rights, women's rights, and now they aren't even allowed to rape women anymore). They have lost on policy. They have lost of "nationalism" and "patriotism" (i.e. racism).

They have such a culture of learned helplessness that the only thing they can do is make themselves feel powerful by buying ridiculous guns or joining the military so they shoot and intimidate non-whites or join the police force so they can shoot or intimidate non-whites or elect representatives who "own" libs with grade-school style insults and shouting matches.

Maybe if they actually tried to better themselves by getting an education or at least turning off their echo chambers (like Fox News) for a few days then they wouldn't be such sad and pathetic people. But, if they could do that then they wouldn't be voting Republican in the first place.

I don't know what this means.
Being an incompetent dolt who sounds like a fourth grader is 'trolling your opponents'?

What's 'falling for it every time'? Pointing out that he's an imbecile and an embarrassment?

The 'he's crazy like a fox' card that people were trying to play right after the election is obviously not true.
He's a fool through and through, and out of touch with the rest of humanity. It might almost be sad, except he's such an a##hole.

I agree with you in general, but...
Just the fact he's president is trolling!
There are times he's trolling, and the TDS'ers can't help but take the bait. Normal people (the ones that don't like Trump, but don't see the point in reacting like a school girl to every idiotic thing he says) just shake their heads and wait for the experiment to end.
I will admit to being entertained by the trolling and stupidity at first, but it quickly got annoying and counter productive.

I guess what I'm saying is, in order to be trolling, doesn't there have to be another layer? Drop the mask, reveal the man behind the troll?

Trudeau apparently called DT 'Donald' recently, which caused DT's sphincter to rage-pucker.

That's trolling.

Look at his Twitter feed. Calling Stormy Daniels "horse face" is classic trolling.

You do realize, whenever Obama did something stupid,

Most of the stupid things Obama said were gaffes: "57 states...corpse-men...etc."

I've always maintained that people WAY over-react to gaffes.

Obama didn't go to battle with gold star family members, or rip judges due to their ethnicity, or make up demeaning nicknames for his opponents, etc.

When I reacted harshly (admittedly, sometimes over-reacted) to Obama it was over policies/actions that I either strongly disagreed with or felt were beyond his scope of power, like DAPA.

It's sad that so many people refuse to see things objectively, and the country suffers for it. When Obama was in office, you would see Reps write huge articles about how terrible everything is how spell out everything bad that has happened with everything he has done. Yet, looking at him objectively, anyone can tell he made some good wins, had some bad setbacks, and for the most part the country was still in the same place it was before he was President. I've seen this same thing play out since Reagan. The only people who are allowing this to negatively impact the country are the ones who actually believe it. Such a shame to see so many people destroy this country by simple words and opinions that turn in to hate and aggression.

Oh, one other thing that people seem to just ignore, when gas prices were cheap under Obama, Dems went CRAZY about how great he has done with gas and how his policies have ensured gas stays low.

We are now at very low gas prices again and not even one mention of this occurring under Trump's watch. No praise from the Dems. In fact, I'm sure they are finding ways to demonize him for it, like saying lower gas means more people use it, thus contributing to global warming.

I'm not saying either guy is good or bad for it, all I'm pointing out is the hypocrisy that occurs from both sides.
