North Carolina election officials have declined to certify the winner of the state's Ninth Congressional District election, after allegations were made suggesting absentee ballots may have been tampered with. Elections officials and Democrats have been careful not to allege any specific wrongdoing so far.

Actual voter fraud finally, and voter ID would have solve nothing.

All along, during the voter fraud discussions, the topic of absentee ballots has been raised. Also noted was that absentee ballots tend to favor Republicans more than Democrats.

Could it be that the whole voter ID thing was little more than a smoke screen that would divert attention away from the manner in which Republicans possibly commit voter fraud?

If what is described in the cited article turns out to be true, then there appears to be a significant problem in that NC county.

Of course, even after the Democrats win the elections, the Republicans prove themselves to be sore loser.

Just look at Michigan and Wisconsin...

Republicans in Wisconsin and Michigan, defeated in November, seek payback by limiting the powers of incoming Democrats

Though I would not be surprised if there are some here who think this un-American behavior on the part of the Republicans is a good thing.

Think about it, the voters told the Republicans to take a hike, and the Republicans respond to the stated desires of the voters by going against those wishes.

The title for this is way too innocuous.

I wrote an entire synopsis of the article, and then realized I just wasn't doing the story justice. People should read this. It's not that long, and it's quite a story.

Sycophant nailed it.

That's because the GOP are expert cheaters. They knew if they threw out a red herring to occupy their mouth breathing base and effectively suppress opposition voters, they could go after the most lucrative sources of cheating and manipulating elections.

For those scumbags it's win win.

Y.E.S.

One of the major lessons of the Trump era is that if the GOP is accusing others of doing it, you can guarantee they're doing it to the extreme.

"In a low-slung, aging commercial strip across the street from an online-gaming parlor here, a local operative named Leslie McCrae Dowless ran his command center for Republican Mark Harris in the 9th Congressional District primary this spring.

Dowless sat at a desk at the back of one of the strip's vacant storefronts, where he oversaw a crew of workers who collected absentee ballots from voters and updated the Harris campaign on the numbers, according to Jeff Smith, who is the building's owner and a former Dowless friend.

Smith provided his account about the primary campaign to state investigators, who are examining whether Dowless's activities then and in the general election violated North Carolina's election laws, which allow only individual voters or designated close relatives to mail a ballot.

Dowless is now at the center of a burgeoning fraud investigation that has delayed the certification of Harris's narrow victory and could prompt officials to call for a new election between him and Democrat Dan McCready, who are separated by 905 votes, according to unofficial returns."

Exactly. I have said this many times. Why do you think all the accusations they make resonate so much with the Republican base? Remember, empathy is not a Republican strong point. Republicans believe that OTHERS would do the immoral things that THEY would do in their place. If you want to know what immoral things Republicans are doing, look at what they are accusing the Democrats of. The Democrats probably aren't doing it (because they actually have a moral compass) but you can guarantee that there are some Republicans doing it.

Pretty funny hearing Dems screaming about sore losers when they can't except the 2016 Presidential.

If it'd been Democrats altering Republican's absentee ballots you would never have heard the end for calls of Capital Punishment and charges of treason. Fox News wouldn't stop running it for the next 5 years and it would feature prominently in Republican election material from the state to federal level.

#14 fishpaw, how does your link in any way lessen the magnitude of what's happening in NC?

So Obama expressed confidence in our election system.

And yet again the Repubs have gone out of their way to reverse his legacy and prove him wrong.

Something to be proud of, eh? Proving that our elections system isn't as secure as we hope because cheating is the only way your party maintains power.

"11 Here you go liar.".

FAIL.

Obama was specifically talking about national elections, hence the term he used: Decentralized.

You'll notice the NC election was exactly the opposite -- localized -- and the fraud was NOT in person.

So either you were lying, or you're too stupid to know the difference.

I went through the thread, Danforth asked for a link to Obama's comments. So far zero links probably because the liars can't find one even though their little brains tell them there must be one because they heard the comments on Fox News.

"So far zero links"

Which will be the final total.

And Nullifidian, who mindlessly flagged it as Newsworthy, didn't bother to read it, proving his flagging is nothing but knee-jerk partisanship.

Looks like PettyForth is competing with Corky for the WFW championship. Sorry, but you can't beat Corky or Hans in that contest. WFW is a tactic of losers and a logical fallacy that seeks to discredit a poster based on who flagged them or what flags he has awarded. Essentially a form of guilt-by-association.

Awwww. isn't that cute? Nullifidian is all butt-hurt for being outed as a serial flagger. Didn't even read the link, or bother to notice Fishpaw was making a fool of himself. Just flagged it cause he thought a lib was being owned.

"...that seeks to discredit a poster based on who flagged them or what flags he has awarded."

Hint: Welcome to the DR. If you flag Nazi stuff as Newsworthy on a consistent basis, that deserves discredit as well. Fishy said Obama claimed THE OPPOSITE of what Obama claimed. If you didn't know as much, that also deserves discredit.

"#partisanHackery"

ROFLMAO. You just got outed for 100% partisan hackery. Got projection?
